The best way.

The world is what it is today, with its wars, with its greed, with its hateful people, with its unhappy people, with its unloving people, because most seek not to actually better themselves. They want others to do it. They want politicians to do it. They want Jesus to do it. They want Muhammad to do it. They get into relationships, get married, have kids, so they can do the transformation. What about themselves…?? Everybody keeps pointing fingers to the next person.

Parents are the initiators. They teach their kids with their words. “Son, don’t smoke and drink.” And yet they do it themselves. Kids grow up to be chain smokers and get in trouble because they become drunkards. Or there’s the kid that grows up struggling with weight problems in adulthood, his heart falters because of it, he suffers in and out of the hospital. Why…?? Because his parents didn’t care about health themselves, so with their immoral habits they taught their kid the same. And what about politics and attachment to this garbage…?? The same. Kids grow up arguing and disliking others belonging to another party or with different opinions, because in childhood their parents were really stubborn and mediocre as well.

What I’m saying here is that what really matters in life is not others, but yourself. You help others with your change, not with your words. Wake up. See the reality of it. Don’t keep denying it. If you actually bring change to yourself, you can then really help and heal others. What you think and how you feel doesn’t create reality. Your daily habits do. Saying that you love people is not actual change. Saying that you try to be healthy is not actual change. You either do it or not. Because it is all about self-development. It is all my life is. That is why I ascend. That is why I write the way I write. So, ask yourself about your daily habits. What do you need to change to give better example to your family, kids, spouse, friends, the world??

And if you enjoyed that, please take a moment to visit my work.  I write about self-development, the poetry of the better life, love and relationships.

Worry about your own faults.

Stay with yourself.  Create your feelings, and don’t let others control how you react.  Learn that people cannot be changed by you, they are who they want to be; that is, for better or worse, not your problem.

You must express yourself, be true to yourself; but let people have their beliefs and opinions.  It is not your responsibility to save anyone.  You only point, but let them decide if they will walk in that direction or not.

Stop being so arrogant as to make it your duty to control people and make them see what you see.  Worry about your own faults, your own ego, your own psychological addictions, and open your own eyes.  That is the only responsibility you have.

A contagious connection.

The music we listen, the people around us, the things we watch, the situations in which we take part, as is the foods we ingest–it all gets introduced into us, it soon becomes a part of us for better or for worse.

Quite often you desire to be with a particular person, or be in certain situations, or to eat something you like, or so on and so forth; but this is your ego, your mind’s content, and it might not be wise for your own well-being to follow these cravings without questioning them further.

You must always remember that everything which enters your mind and body, anything which enters via your physical senses, is energy that will become who you are as a person–regarding your intelligence, your wisdom, your mental health, your understanding, and all that which is your physical composition.

You must choose wisely, putting aside your ego or your simple desires; and you must choose wisely the time and energy you give to the people with whom you engage.  It is not easy most of the time to choose the people in your life, like family for example; but as a mature adult you can indeed choose the conversations or activities to which you give your time.

It is about your mind and its content, and not about pleasing others or even pleasing your own ego; for it is about your maturity to choose better, which is the connection to your Higher Self.  Do not make excuses for this; for, if you do, you are just harming yourself and distancing from self-love and wisdom.  Avoid stress, frustration, sickness, and problems galore, by focusing on the right energies for your own personal growth.

Three to Divine Love.

Love has been distorted by society, by each person’s ego; it has been made an opinion, a belief, a thing which exists only if the ego is in a good mood–so we have romance, friendship, family, nationalistic, and various sorts of so-called “love.”  But this love of the masses is not eternal but created by man.  Under the heavy and dirty layers of these you find the spiritual love or divinity of God, that which man and woman claim to know but which still is not shown in their actions.  Look at the world.  Look at your society.  Look at your own life.  In 99% of cases, the ego tells people what love is, and people end up suffering for it, and the world ends up suffering for it.

So what is divine love…??  In order to understand divine love, the love of God, one must understand what a soul is.  The spirit is something we all have, it is the substance of energy sustaining our bodies.  But the soul YOU must build, because to have a full soul is tied to morality and ethics; however, we are born only with a soul-seed in order to develop ourselves and grow that seed.  As one grows one must learn to live by higher principles, embodying higher truth and morals in all aspects; most people, as nice as they sound, do not do this, thus their soul is not whole.

Divine love comes to your conscious experience as a delight, always constant and full of wisdom and understanding:

1) (Filial Love) you must accept yourself in all terms, accept your emptiness and work on it, stop seeking pleasures to fill that void.

2) (Agapic Love) you must seek the growth of your true self and stop filling your ego with beliefs, imaginations, pleasures, and knowledge to feel superior over others, and so you have to meditate, pray, be humble and truthful in all you do in order to lessen the hold of your ego.

3) (Erotic or Creative Love) you must transmute your wild impulses and wild desires in order to attend on higher and more creative endeavors of the mind, focus on developing talents and on other things which can help you ascend and get in touch with your true self; because narrow is the gate and the animal cannot walk it, only the human being with a full soul can.

Only following these one can embrace and become full love, build a full soul and raise oneself above the pettiness of a trapped, egoistical, absurd, opportunistic mind.

The eagle who didn’t know itself.

“In a forest an eagle lived on a tree, and it had built a nest wherein to lay its eggs; there the eagle would hatch its eggs all throughout the day.  Under the same tree there lived a hen, and this particular hen had also laid eggs during the same period when the eagle had laid its own eggs.  One day, while the eagle had gone for hunting, a bear climbed up the tree to eat the eagle’s eggs.  The bear had finished three of the eggs soon, when the fourth one slipped off its hands and fell into the hen’s nest; on returning, the eagle could not find her eggs, and so feeling terribly upset she decided to leave the place.

The hen which lived under the tree saw the eagle’s egg by the side of her eggs, so she felt pity on the eagle’s egg and decided to hatch it as well.  After a few days, the hen’s chicks hatched.  The eagle’s chick hatched, too.  And the hen would feed all the chicks, including the eagle’s chick, as if it were her own.  Soon the chicks began to grow.  The young chicks would listen to their mother’s sounds and try to imitate her.  The eagle’s chick also picked up the hen’s sounds, because that is all it heard.
The chicks would all play together and make lots of noise.  Within no time, the hen’s chicks, as well as the eagle’s chick, grew up to their full size.  The eagle’s chick never realized that it was an eagle and not a hen; so, considering itself a hen, the eagle would eat hen’s food, would walk and run like other hens and would make sounds like hens.  The eagle never learnt to fly like other eagles and lived its whole life like a hen only.”

Your parents were probably loving and did their best, like mine did also; however, this is not enough to illumine your conscience and wake up from the veil cast by society, specially as an adult who needs this illumination and wisdom in his/her own life.  As the little eagle growing up as a hen in the above-mentioned story, you might be still surrounded by people who are weaker of mind and ignorant of the deceit of their own egos, and you must see this yourself; for you probably feel sometimes confused, overwhelmed, lacking confidence, mentally weak to do something because this is your environment, your mental program, and the people with whom you interact daily.

Growing up and experiencing this is surely painful if you believe it, if you believe you are the hen instead of the mighty eagle; so, as an adult it is extremely important that you choose your situations and the people to whom you give your time and your energy.  Because, after all, your mind will absorb the influence of your environment and of the people around you–their moods, their characters, their ideas, their intentions.  This energy will affect you, whether you want it or not.  So, choose carefully…

Allow it to guide you…

You must realize what is really important in your life.  You must make a conscious decision between what your intellect tells you and what your heart tells you.  A good and prosperous life is not a life guided by intellect, but one guided by the empathy and understanding of your heart; thus, you must live and love untainted by the rigidity and vanity of the ego.

Be aware of the people around you who is decent and who desire the best for you, quite often not perfect but with a pure and honest heart; for these persons might not be well-educated or even have the same ideas, aspirations, and beliefs you have, but they may bring you the emotional drive you need in certain moments of struggle.

History is full of people whose vanity and pride was so big that they left behind their loved ones and the people who truly cared for them just to follow their egos and chase after superficial conquests–i.e., women, men, money, higher class, more hours at their job, etc. etc.  Sometimes what we chase is not better per se but pure vainglory, because we are trying to escape our own emptiness, insecurities, feelings of inferiority, and any fears perhaps from past memories.

Honesty is the best policy and so you must be honest with yourself, and make sure you surround yourself with the people that truly loves you and cares for your development; and no matter what happens learn to understand them and forgive their faults, because no one is perfect and we all need each other…  In a world which is so vain and superficial, where family, friendship, and love is just the second-class citizen, you must raise yourself above this and become a free and compassionate individual–i.e., remember what is truly important, be guided by your heart…

I dance with a friend…

Why do people waste their whole lives thinking about an “end”…??  Why can’t you see that life has no end…??  Why can’t you just let go of your fear and dance along this beautiful piece of art sounding in your human experience…??

Society, your family, your traditions, your beliefs, religions, books, have poisoned you.  Yes, they have cemented in you the firm illusion of an end because your body decays with time; but you still experience your energy– Does it decay as well…??  Does the energy inside the atom die…??  Or just the shell of the atom dies…?? …  But what you fear is not death itself, but it is losing your things, your physical relationships, your possessions, your positions in society–that’s what you fear.  Attachment is like shackles to you, such is a prison which does not let your consciousness elevate; thus, your creativity dies slowly and your fear grows…

Life is all there is, like love is all there is, like beauty is all there is; however, the ego, the lower consciousness in man, divides life with the thought of death, poisons love in man with fear, and makes beauty pleasant or unpleasant through culture, tradition, and personal experience.

But there is no death in reality, just the loss of your ego and its attachments to matter.  Reality, just like sleep is your real state of existence where there are no boundaries and your spirit can soar freely and without impositions from your ego, is the true essence of life… of you.

All life is then, is a glorious dance…  And you must befriend the concept of death to lose all fear…

I dance with a friend...”

Every day I observe his beautiful face,
He whispers my great value and beauty:
He utters divine words with perfect grace,
How I must not fear him in my daily duty.
“Would you dance with me…??” he says.
“Would you be my partner in this dance…??”
Love within me grows as I to him confess,
As we are joined in the eternal romance.

Yes, I dance with a friend and I am in love!
My profound dreams reveal his true heart.
Freedom becomes my human form as glow.
My spirit truly soars as all fear does part.
He tells me that my consciousness was ill,
For the conditioned brain had poisoned me;
He gave me health, conscience, good will,
For now I see life as The One eternal sea.

Strengthen your character.

“Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.” ~ Buddha.

“Be Impeccable with your word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz; Mexican author of Toltec spiritualist and neoshamanistic texts.

Quite often we tend to react emotionally to situations and people, destroying trust and distancing ourselves from clarity; and this happens when the mind is overwhelmed and angered, in conversations or even when we keep anger inside that we cannot contain.

So, that is when the mind explodes and careless words come flying out just like daggers thrust to an opponent in battle; however, as in battle, the greatest warriors are the ones who remain calm, the ones who control their reactions, and the ones who turn mental anger and fogginess into mental strength and poise.

See, the fact that you must be firm and serious in your battle, in your work, in your conversation with another, does not mean you have to be careless and hurtful with your words.

Now, you must understand that when you let your mind explode and you say whatever comes out of your mouth, you are not just hurting others but you are hurting yourself; for in this process you condition your mind, your character, subconsciously perhaps, to be subjected to this poison which runs now throughout your whole system.

You not only destroy your own integrity and peace of mind, but you destroy opportunities and distance yourself from people that now see you as this ego-centered bully; furthermore, your thoughts and words of anger or incomprehension release energy which is negative and attract all sorts of stressing situations into your life.

Your character develops strength based on the control on your reactions and the intentions you carry in thoughts and words.

Be patient, wait to respond or formulate your message, remain clear and do not allow your emotions to cloud your thinking.

Higher standards.

“You can’t please everyone. When you’re too focused on living up to other people’s standards, you aren’t spending enough time raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. But for the most part, it’s all in your head. People care less about your actions than you think. Why? They have their own problems!” ~ Kris Carr; American health author, wellness activist, and cancer survivor.

“Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards. When people ask me what really changed my life eight years ago, I tell them that absolutely the most important thin was changing what I demanded of myself. I wrote down all the things I would no longer accept in my life, all the things I would no longer tolerate, and all the things that I aspired to becoming.” ~ Tony Robbins; American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life coach.

Most people in this world act like they do not like themselves, as they dumb themselves down for other people just to fit in with the fools of a group, whether family or friends, and as they engage in their own depressive thinking while putting themselves down in front of a mirror also; thus lowering their own standards to mediocrity and self-pity every day more and more.

They are like beggars asking for love and attention, mistreating themselves and belittling themselves and their lives; consequently, this shrinks the human mind and brings all sorts of distortions of reality.

And because you cannot see reality now, namely that you can do more and be more for yourself, you drown in your own ego while you distance yourself from all self-love which can help you experience all happiness.

There is no more love you can have towards yourself than self-respect, because this self-respect creates mighty confidence and strength from within so you can say no to lower standards in the world, so you can raise yourself above those negative thoughts you may have and the inferior influence from people around you.

So, remind yourself that self-discipline in this is to love yourself and care enough to create the greatest life for you.  Worry and work on yourself, do not listen to others.  You are THE ONLY creator of your life.

Self-help life truths.

“I don’t trust people who don’t love themselves and tell me, ‘I love you.’ … There is an African saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt.” ~  Maya Angelou; writer, poet, and civil rights activist.

“Most good relationships are built on mutual trust and respect.”  ~ Mona Sutphen; Foreign Affairs Officer, consultant, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff.

Trust is the emotional connection in any relationship, being romantic, friendship, co-workers, or any other sort; and trust increases love and peace in the mind, thus creating a deeper understanding of the foundation of any committed and sincere relationship.

But trust must be earned also, it does not matter who you are, or who the other person is, and it does not matter the story in the relationship; and it must be displayed in behaviors and honest and open communication with one another, it must increase harmony and divine union–one must feel at ease and understood by the other, and vice versa.

And as with all serious interactions in the wide human spectrum, trust always must be founded on self-love, because if you love yourself, you trust yourself; and so, now you can carry this personal experience onto the outside relationships with another, you can truly give trust, and also recognize trust in the other person.

But you must be able to live and trust in the present moment, for the only true happiness you can fully experience is in the present moment, not in past memories or in future ones.

This is to say, that you cannot fully trust and be trusted only by what has been said or done in the past, or by what has been solely promised for the future, but you must watch the behaviors of the present and also listen to the words and thoughts being expound in the present.

People’s minds, egos, are tied to different moods and characters, so trust must be experienced in the present to know that is real trust.  Watch for the signals in others, and also watch that you give the right signals so others can trust you.
