Loving, maturely, sincerely, like everything important in life, is a faithful practice. You must be there for someone else. Instead of doing what you want, take your time to listen. Teach your mind to be peaceful, let go of going your own way.
If you were used to taking care only of yourself, living the way you want, building your own lifestyle, then train yourself to let go and be open-minded to a different perspective. In time, through honest practice, loving will become you, your desires and actions.
Be patient
Blooming the flower of love is a process of the mind and must not be rushed. Rushing it only tricks the mind into believing it changed, but in time problems in the relationship will appear because there was never a real shift of your mindset/your subconscious never changed its programming.
It’s easy to become frustrated and angry with others, with life and with ourselves even. You try your best and it doesn’t come out the way you expected it. Or you put effort, time, desire into something; but at some point things begin to fall apart. Well, it is frustrating indeed; but, frustrating or not, your duty is to observe and learn. And let’s not make excuses. There is always something to learn. Sometimes we don’t want to accept it, or even recognize in our minds that we failed at something; but the truth will set us free, and it shall also help us become better in life. Hurt, pain, disappointment, frustration. These are there for a reason. Don’t drown in sorrow, but be patient and humble enough to see and study that reason.
A series of small steps. Daily. Life is all about small steps. That is how love, happiness, success is experienced, felt, embraced in you. Don’t be impulsive. Don’t think you can’t. Start with the small things. Don’t just have in mind the big picture, but have in mind the small steps that’ll get you where you want to be. It’s about commitment and enjoying the process of self-transformation. For years, I couldn’t see this. Heartbreaks. The death of my father. Financial problems. And many more things made me feel like a failure, and not even able to look forward and claim a better future. But slowly, through much hardship, I learned that life is all about determination and purpose. It is about taking daily the small steps towards my goals, towards what I want.
And for this we need patience and much more courage. Courage to see through our own sorrows and hardships. Courage to deny the negative thoughts and feelings we may have. Courage to stop following the rest and paying attention to the opinions they carry of us. Because in order to better your life, you must better yourself. Day by day. Slowly. Committed to change your thoughts, your feelings, your behaviors in life. You have to focus on a new purpose, on something which brings you passion, and a process of self-transformation. You want something, and the secret to getting it is in focusing on the small steps towards building that something. But always moving on, not staying with the old. Old relationships. Old ways of believing. Old habits. Leave it all behind. And create the new. Create yourself anew. Life is always evolving, so you evolve with life as well.

That which gives you passion, fills you with joy, and makes you a better, more talented human being. Follow that.
Why is it that most people tend to use the excuse of not having time…??
Sometimes excuses are just fears that we keep on feeding while time passes by.
Life runs forward without asking if we are comfortable, or if we need more time, or if we may change choices to have advantage on the outcomes. And putting excuses only hurts our opportunities as we live. One must follow what is true, not what gives us quick satisfaction and sure wins; but the secret is in following your heart, not your head. And how do you do this…?? By doing what’s right for you. By seeking to better yourself, making yourself stronger, more decent, more talented. It is about following something which helps you become more confident, more proud of your strengths and character.
Sometimes one says “I do not have time,” or “I’ll do it next time.” But quite often these are just excuses, perhaps out of fear of failure, maybe out of disinterest, or could be that one is used to laziness. But, truth is, whoever really believes in something, or if you feel truly passionate about something, then you’ll make time. Life is not about excuses. This life is about moving forward, experiencing change, getting better; and you can only progress in this if you commit to something truly important for you. Whatever that is, take it seriously, make plans in your head, and step by step work to build more and more. Little by little. Without excuses. With heart and commitment.
And for this, you must become patient. No one attains anything truly great without patience. Patience is self-discipline. Patience gives you the character and inner strength to wait and work intelligently towards building a better life. Remind yourself that life must give you joy, so the process of building your future must also give you joy and strength to keep going. This means that you must choose something important for you, no matter what others say. Choose whatever fills your heart and mind with passion, such passion must make you a better person. There is fleeting, bursting, not committed passion; and I’m not talking about this, of course. But use your mind, envision the future, think about what your pursuit will get you and what kind of a person you will become.
And if you like YA fantasy/mystery, you can’t miss my novel “BENJAMIN JONES – The Call of The Shaman.” The first in the series BENJAMIN JONES. This is an epic adventure, similar in style to “Percy Jackson” and Harry Potter” and a tad of “The Lord of The rings.”
This is some of what people are saying in their reviews:
“A story of a young 12 years old orphan boy who get guided by Indian Spiritual Guru Adit Acharya. Being Indian, I got attached with the story easily. Story line is very good. Lot of things to learn. Author Asa Rodriguez has written very good life quotes on True Love. The story is very much inspiring. I recommend this book to youngsters as adults.” ~ Ashish Jain.
“I loved the Percy Jackson feel of this quest, full of memorable monsters and an interesting mythology! If you’re looking for an epic quest packed with danger, creatures, magic, and great characters, come seek the orb with Benjamin Jones.” ~ J. Grant.
In order to set goals with heart and commitment, one must be self-disciplined. In order to be self-disciplined, one must be patient. To be patient is definitely a virtue that we all carry, but one that not many exercise. Your mind must be patient, work step by step, accept the days as they come; and through it all your vision must be set on a big goal.
Each day work towards fulfilling or completing small goals, patiently, with love and commitment. This leads you to remain faithful and firm on reaching that bigger goal in the far future. See, the enjoyment in life is not the actual big goal you have set in the future; but the enjoyment is in the small goals you complete every day.

This is something I talk about in my book and try to bring to the attention of the reader, so they may apply it in their lives. The importance of letting go. The importance of detachment. How this is crucial for learning to love your life, yourself, and others; because it is all about this.
If you let things go, if you detach yourself from prejudice and complaining, you will see more clearly and feel more liberated from your burdens. Difficult times are not here to destroy you or to make you suffer, but they are here to give you the opportunity to challenge yourself and become a better human being.
But you have to see this yourself, so you can gain patience and confidence in your daily life. Unless you see the wisdom in this, nothing can help you through your troubles. So, step outside of your ego, of your personal opinions and prejudice; and stop playing the victim. Rise up and realize this. Allow your mind to be free from unnecessary drama.
Be patient. Be humble. Be committed. Stay on course and focused. Don’t let negativity, loud and anxious voices in your head, and your stress, bring you down.
Nothing can disturb you more than your own mind, so focus on self-discipline specially in the midst of hard times. Keep your mind and body sacred. Watch what you eat. Be careful of what you allow into your mind.
Be mindful of your thoughts. Pay attention to the time you give to others, because people can suck you into their dramas and anxieties. In order to lead your life successfully, you must be self-aware at all times.
Love must be observed carefully and not be a reactive impulse. Some people are quick to love, when they are only seeking validation from their target. This people do not know true love, but they are only seeking you to validate them and how they feel about themselves. This is needy, clingy people.
Some other people show affection by honest behavior, without words, without labels. They just give with joy, they comprehend the patient process of affection. This people have a greater chance at true love, because they pace themselves and build trust.
Always observe the people around you–i.e., your family, friends, lovers, even in marriages of a long time. People have different ideas of love and sometimes they distort their affections towards another. You know love by close observation of behavior.
There is no better attitude you can have than that of constant gratitude, even if situations are not ideal. Gratitude in your heart and mind, as you get up in the morning, during your day, and as you lay yourself to sleep at night.
Gratitude for the things you experienced, for the person you are even with your personal issues, for the desires you have to make your life better, and for the people around you–even the ones you do not like as much.
Nothing is perfect and that is okay, because that is just the spice of life and why it is so interesting to be alive and experience sadness and joy, the ups and downs, knowing that you have grown up and that you still have much to learn yet.
Your life is your mind. Your life is the good or bad illusion your mind creates based on the content you allow. You keep your mind positive, clear, truthful, guided by facts and love, and PATIENT most of all; and so, that is just what you will get as experience in your life.
For thought to manifest, to create beauty out of ugliness, to attract wealth out of poverty, to bring health out of an unhealthy body, you need higher intelligence, higher projections of imagination.
Animals do not have this. Plants do not have it. They are literal, what you see is what you get.
But in our human existence, the ugliest man can make the most beautiful woman fall in love with him, the unhealthiest person can become the healthiest one, the poorest person can become the richest, the dullest individual can become highly intellectual and talented, etc. etc.
All these accomplishments and more are manifestations or creations of our higher minds, of higher imaginations to be more precise; hence, humankind has been gifted with higher states of imagination, so what we imagine, without fear and with divine patience, we can manifest throughout our lives.
Evidently, it not only takes imagination but our own effort; therefore, we have been given the most powerful tool to build, but we must use it properly and without obstacles to building–i.e., without fears in our minds.
And it is funny that the same powerful tool given to us also brings the most powerful enemy into us, fear. So we may create better futures for ourselves or we may destroy our futures by the same power, namely Imagination.
Life is full of lessons and opportunities. Lessons can bring us growth in every aspect, if we allow the lessons to do such a thing in our experience, if we do indeed see past the frustration and the suffering in order to learn.
And, if we see past the anger and frustration, the anxiety and the pain we feel at times, we may then absorb the lesson, master ourselves slowly with each new experience; hence, we grow and we encounter better opportunities to be and acquire more, to feel happier, to be more successful in every aspect.
But, of course, this is not automatic and fast, you must develop the divine trait of patience; for patience gives you determination, commitment, wisdom in life. He who has infinite patience can know true love and happiness; because infinite patience allows your mind time to see and find this within you.
And wisdom is needed, absolutely, because in life you have challenges at each step you take, you have temptations offering you what you desire if you have less moral values and ethical behaviors, you have anger and neglect from others around you, you have many things with which you have to deal every day.
And if you fall into temptation or if you commit a mistake, you must keep on going and seek truth, get back to the right path and endure some more; however, you have to be always prepared mentally to stand alone and firm, to be your own person, accept your weaknesses and the things in your character in which you must improve.
In order to see and walk life with wisdom, you must be patient and accept your life as it is, transform yourself slowly into a better, stronger person and soon you will turn things around and improve your life as well.
