Finding purpose

The whole purpose

Sometimes we became aware of things later in life. Sometimes it takes years, even decades, for a person to discover his passion, his goals, what he really wants to pursue and work with great commitment. Sometimes life is truly difficult for us growing up, and so we discover our true strengths and capacities when we are older and more mature.

But this is just learning and discovering ourselves. At different levels, it happens to any one of us. It is the whole purpose of living. So, there is really no age number, no definite moment, to pursue your passions in life. The worst mistake you can make is to belittle yourself and say that you can’t because you’re too old, or because you have other responsibilities, or because the people around you doesn’t support you.

Finding and feeling joy and inspiration

Granted, one should always pursue with caution, with intelligence, and without being impulsive. First and foremost, one must pursue with maturity and thinking what is the best for our current lives. I, for example, became a published author in my late 30s. In my late 30s then, after much research, I discovered my strengths regarding to creative writing.

So, I blended fantasy with spirituality in my books, because I want to entertain people but also guide or help people with the burdens of life. So, I guess what I’m trying to say is that one should always stop oneself, search deep inside, and find whatever inspires you and fills you with passion. It’s not about money alone, but it’s about finding and feeling joy and inspiration in what you do.

What are the best hobbies…??

The best hobbies are the ones which bring passion and commitment out of you, the ones that make you feel important and free. To me, the best hobby brings me pure joy and that sense of importance. The best hobby is more than just fun, because it has to give you discipline and love for what you do.

A guide to yourself

A hobby is also something that gives you quality time with yourself, and in this time you may ponder your feelings and thoughts more intimately. Because sometimes life gets too busy for us to ponder like this, hobbies are a wonderful source for making friendship with ourselves.

I find my writing, my painting, my drawing quite liberating; because it is what gives me pride, joy, self-discipline, and a sense of freedom and time to discover myself. And discovering ourselves is why we are alive, why we experience joy and misery, why we have the gift of self-awareness.

Live with passion.

That which gives you passion, fills you with joy, and makes you a better, more talented human being. Follow that.

Why is it that most people tend to use the excuse of not having time…??

Sometimes excuses are just fears that we keep on feeding while time passes by.

Life runs forward without asking if we are comfortable, or if we need more time, or if we may change choices to have advantage on the outcomes. And putting excuses only hurts our opportunities as we live. One must follow what is true, not what gives us quick satisfaction and sure wins; but the secret is in following your heart, not your head. And how do you do this…?? By doing what’s right for you. By seeking to better yourself, making yourself stronger, more decent, more talented. It is about following something which helps you become more confident, more proud of your strengths and character.

Sometimes one says “I do not have time,” or “I’ll do it next time.” But quite often these are just excuses, perhaps out of fear of failure, maybe out of disinterest, or could be that one is used to laziness. But, truth is, whoever really believes in something, or if you feel truly passionate about something, then you’ll make time. Life is not about excuses. This life is about moving forward, experiencing change, getting better; and you can only progress in this if you commit to something truly important for you. Whatever that is, take it seriously, make plans in your head, and step by step work to build more and more. Little by little. Without excuses. With heart and commitment.

And for this, you must become patient. No one attains anything truly great without patience. Patience is self-discipline. Patience gives you the character and inner strength to wait and work intelligently towards building a better life. Remind yourself that life must give you joy, so the process of building your future must also give you joy and strength to keep going. This means that you must choose something important for you, no matter what others say. Choose whatever fills your heart and mind with passion, such passion must make you a better person. There is fleeting, bursting, not committed passion; and I’m not talking about this, of course. But use your mind, envision the future, think about what your pursuit will get you and what kind of a person you will become.

And if you like YA fantasy/mystery, you can’t miss my novel “BENJAMIN JONES – The Call of The Shaman.” The first in the series BENJAMIN JONES. This is an epic adventure, similar in style to “Percy Jackson” and Harry Potter” and a tad of “The Lord of The rings.”

This is some of what people are saying in their reviews:

“A story of a young 12 years old orphan boy who get guided by Indian Spiritual Guru Adit Acharya. Being Indian, I got attached with the story easily. Story line is very good. Lot of things to learn. Author Asa Rodriguez has written very good life quotes on True Love. The story is very much inspiring. I recommend this book to youngsters as adults.” ~ Ashish Jain.

“I loved the Percy Jackson feel of this quest, full of memorable monsters and an interesting mythology! If you’re looking for an epic quest packed with danger, creatures, magic, and great characters, come seek the orb with Benjamin Jones.” ~ J. Grant.

Not of your comprehension.

Quite often connections can be damaged beyond repair, in any relationship, whether romantic or otherwise, because one tends to think, argue, try to understand, and psychologically categorize the other person too much–sometimes with obsession.

But to love, to connect is to feel without words, without playing any psychological game.  Just to accept and be with someone else is enough to love, because love is not your effort, is not your demand, is not your belief or opinion.

I do not seek your comprehension

I do not want the world to know my feel,
For they would not understand the depth.
I do not seek your comprehension either,
For I just desire your tender eyes to observe.
Mine is an invisible seduction of the soul,
A passion which hugs your whole being;
But do not wonder what this means to you,
Do not imprison yourself in nervous thoughts,
Just lose your inhibitions and dance in bliss.
If you do not believe that the soul in love
Leaves the body in the agony of passion,
Then do not take your eyes away from me
And do walk to where I am without speaking.
When true lovers all around the world moan
They are telling our story without knowing it.
I am not who you see, but I am what you feel,
And what you feel is not to be understood;
For is not of your mind, not of your reason.

Passion and Commitment to your Cause.

To be truly effective, to bring good change, to deliver with efficacy and integrity in life, one must be loyal to oneself and to one’s purpose; for it is not enough to desire something, because a mere desire is of the ego, thus weak and easily influenced and corrupted, and soon you may get distracted or even lose commitment to that same purpose.

So there has to be a higher level of loyalty and commitment in you in order to create great effectiveness in whatever you do.  Many who start a diet and eating healthy, for example, fail and soon return to their unhealthy habits.

And many who truly make an effort to love unconditionally soon collapse and find themselves not truly loving anymore, perhaps struggling to accept another and care for another and even oneself.

Same happens in any aspect of life.  You must develop clarity and understanding of the specifics of that purpose, and this will give you balance and strong commitment, which in turn will solidify your desire and transmute it into a burning passion.

But this attitude and commitment to be effective in what you want or desire must also be based on integrity of character, on higher moral values; for higher moral values will keep that passion and commitment burning, for higher moral values are based on your inner joy and well-being and not on outside circumstances which can be outside your control.

The Hell of Your Passions.

Seeing through your own desires and passions (all products of your ego) is a challenge we all must face and overcome in order to see truth as it is.  In order to know true, everlasting love you must see beyond the burning desire, passion, and lust you feel for someone.  In order to know great health you must see beyond your selfish and capricious cravings for popular foods.  In order to really know God you must empty your mind from beliefs and literature and go beyond the popular mind of society.   In order to know freedom you must leave beliefs, traditions, and lifestyles taught to you by society–including family, religion and all unproven literature.
We may say all this is the inferno of the passions of the unawakened man, because this and more are blinding forms of self-destruction, self-imposed, which bring anxiety, stress, anger, fear, and confusion to mankind.  All this creates attachment in the weak mind–attachment to beliefs, ideas, lifestyles, views on life.  And whenever this clashes or is opposed by others, there is hell–there is contention, war, hatred, prejudice, jealousy, and the rest.  Can you see this for yourself…??  Can you see how the human mind is weakened by all this man-made knowledge and selfishness of the ego…??

To overcome all this is to rise from the inferno of your own passions, it is to stop thought and its ruling on your life, so you may be guided by the truth which lies beyond your desires and selfish passions.  And this is the whole purpose of human existence, this is why you have been endowed with self-awareness over other animals; so you may see these weaknesses in yourself, empty your mind and go beyond it, find your true self and rise over the inferno of your human desires and passions.

All this so you can see through life and society, and so create a newer, more blissful life for yourself; thus, a life with no struggle, a life where you see the tricks of your own mind, a life where fear is no more, a life where you have much more intuition and empathy, a life where you are truly the god or goddess you seek, and a life where you are true love and so you bring exactly that into all your relationships

Life is full of challenges and situations which frustrate you and anger you so you learn to rise over the hell of your own ignorance, over your own passions and desires thus you can know love, God, harmony, freedom, and true happiness.

“Evolving through time…”

Time is tied to change, to development, to growth; thus, time is indeed all that, time is all it takes for matter to create memories, experiences, guides to nurture our brains and its wiring.  And physical evolution indeed happens through time, it is time; therefore, all which occurs in the physical sphere is a pattern or consequence of time and the activity human beings engage, knowingly or unknowingly.
The human brain is a bundle of memories, electrical and chemical wire conduits which mold experiences to better help us engage in the world, and it is the source of learning when added to the passion of our hearts; because whenever the intellect, the brain tries to learn something but there is no passion from the heart, then that same brain does not deeply learn but forgets soon enough.
Remember when you learned to drive, for example, it stuck with you throughout your life, even if you couldn’t have a car of your own for many years; because you knew it was important to you and also interesting as you saw your family drive, so you put not just your intellect and analysis but your whole heart into it, your passion to grow drove you forth.

And life itself is learning, growing, developing, creating ever forth; for when you learn with your heart in it, then you follow life and start living, you stop thinking and suffering age and the pressures of the world, because now you are nurturing yourself with food that will not leave you but strengthen you and make you feel stronger and more confident to create a better path–whether you are 20, 40, or 70 years old.

The worst mistake people make is to think and believe that the brain ages with the body and that there is no stopping the process; but the brain ages because most people do not care for it and nurture it with deep love for learning–i.e., a new language, new ideas, new lifestyles, new books, new skills or enterprises, new daily behaviors, mindful meditations, etc. etc.

When this happens and you nurture your brain daily, new neural connections appear, new awareness, consciousness expands, and you embrace change and direct it to better fit the ever evolving you.

“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love.  When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.” ~ Sophia Loren; Italian film actress and singer.

Eternal and Unquenchable.

So many people in the world are ruled by hatred, fear, and the search for money and popularity that their minds are blind to the truth, to reality, they live in this illusion of their minds where everything truly important ages and so they have to compete violently and rush into situations, manipulate and scheme to become better, to become someone else, to become powerful in the eyes of society; for they truly hate themselves deeply and so seek things and accomplishments, and step on others and show their “superiority” just because they need to fill this emptiness they carry inside.
This is the ignorance in the conditioned brain, because they are ruled by dogmas, beliefs, ideas, traditions, memories, and all lifestyles and philosophies borrowed or stolen from others, taught to them and maintained since childhood, they compare themselves to others, they envy and do not know what love/a deeper connection really is.

The unquenchable fire of love and compassion for themselves and for others is buried under all these beliefs, traditions, ideas, and lifestyles of competition to see who is superior, who can be a better slave to money, hatred, and all commercialism, in general to a disgraceful society.

They cannot see and feel what lies in themselves buried and so they seek and seek, for ever more because they see themselves aging and time passing so they become impatient and agitated; therefore, they see life as ephemeral and rushing by, they do not understand that what is buried deep inside them, the unquenchable fire of love and compassion, makes them eternal, makes their minds pure, innocent and creative, absolutely free to see reality as it truly is, to see life as it is and find peace and patience from the tricks of time and all thoughts of violence.

“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.” ~ Ferdinand Foch; French general and Marshal.
