Is it so…??

If someone disturbs you, annoys you, or is constantly making you uncomfortable, then stop and ask yourself why is bothering you so much. How is it really affecting my daily living??

How is it really hurting me?? Is it really interrupting my life and my activities?? Or is it just my ego attaching itself to what somebody else does?? Am I being overdramatic?? Judge yourself and find out the real root of your anxiety and frustration.

Do not let your mind remain proud and vainglorious in this. Do not just say to yourself, “Oh I’m not doing anything wrong here, but it is all somebody else’s fault and annoying attitude!” Be more than this. Take a good and meditative look into yourself.

Your mental health

It requires from you full honesty

If you struggle with depression, or anxiety, or any negative pattern of thinking. If you sometimes feel unworthy, or less than another, or somehow unable to reach certain goals or dreams for yourself. Ask yourself why this is.

But seek the real answer. Don’t blame your genetics fully. Or your childhood fully. Or your surroundings fully. Human beings tend to look outwardly for answers to their issues–from their doctors, from drugs, from genetics, from other people who suffer the same issues, etc.

It requires from you full independence

And that’s what, unbeknownst to you, makes you addicted, and adds to your feelings of inadequacy. If your mind seeks answers outwardly, it becomes dependent on what’s out there. Always.

It becomes an addiction, an obsession, a source for you to seek excuses for your own lack of health. Don’t deny this. By denying it, you are making yourself worse. By denying it, you are dumbing yourself down and neglecting yourself.

It requires from you real change

By neglecting yourself, your psychological and emotional issues grow bigger. So, they grow bigger. You deny some more. You keep seeking answers on the outside.

You keep suffering with no health. And then, because of all this, the cycle continues, your DNA and your subconscious patterns never change. So, avoid yourself all that nonsense. Seek the real answers. Not out there.

Cosmic forces

Ying & Yang

Health. Higher self-awareness. A strengthened spirit. Or Ying Yang balance. Two opposite forces or cosmic energies that complement each other and that live within us all.

Let’s just say what makes us human. It is our duality. The voices of negativity in your head. The voices of positivity in your head. Or as religion’s imagination goes: Angels and Demons, God and The Devil.

Positive & Negative

So, when we allow the forces of negativity to totally consume the way we think, we become filled with self-pity, with jealousy, with feelings of worthlessness and anger–all which leads us to physical illness.

And when we allow the forces of positivity to totally consume the way we think, we become overconfident, we lose connection with the pain and suffering of the world, we start to become naïve and emotionally swindled or controlled by others.

That is why to reach a balance in our lives, and in ourselves, is so important.

Excellence is reaching balance

So, from my experience, I thought about sharing some important benefits of reaching a healthy balance between the two:

-Inner peace and finding that true love for yourself (identity).

-Reduced anxiety, which leads to greater intelligence and creativity.

-Improved intuition, which guides you in life to make less fatal mistakes.

-Understanding your life’s true purpose, which leads you to find your true happiness.

Personal issues

What we carry

In my youth I used to keep anger and frustration bottled up, and sometimes I would subconsciously seek the smallest things, trivial annoyances, to explode and let it out, especially with my brothers.

I would lose my temper really quick with them. Not something I’m proud to admit. But, as I grew up, I started adding meditation and studying psychology to change my perception of things, which worked wonders for me.

Because it was painful to carry all this anxiety when young, and even though I wanted to change it was difficult without more knowledge and understanding of myself. So, what I’m saying is that we all go through something personal, and it’s heavy on us because it affects all our perceptions in life.

Leaving the burden is personal

It even programs our DNA, our subconscious and the automatic reactions we have in life. It depletes our energy, it makes us age faster and without grace, it dulls our senses and lowers our intelligence and creativity, our relationships get affected in all aspects–especially when it comes to sexual desire and performance.

The reality is that we can all change, but it takes a personal committment from you; because it’s not about the world but about changing you and the mental programming running you. No one is perfect, but chasing excellence and creating better habits for ourselves leads to self-healing; and that is definitely something we all want in our lives.

Enjoy what is…

Expectations

It’s great to have ambitions and expectations. It’s wonderful to be able to work towards something and put your passion and commitment to that vision of what could be. But one thing I remind myself is that nothing is a given, and nothing will be exactly as I want it to be; and this is the whole purpose, to become joyful of the journey without becoming attached to the destination.

Enjoy the journey

What comes in the future, will come in the future. What will be, will be. Our only responsibility is the moment, the journey. Are you enjoying what you are doing now?? Why not?? Are you seeking inspiration right now?? Or are you waiting for the future to bring you joy and contentment??

Quite often, most of the time without realizing it, we get entangled with the pressures of life, with the anxiety in our minds, and we then get swept by all this and forget about the moment we are living. You exist now. The past you is gone. The future you is not here. You will always exist in the moment, so don’t allow your mind to make you forget about this and instead make you dream of a future that is not here.

Hobbies…

What are the best hobbies…??

The best hobbies are the ones which bring passion and commitment out of you, the ones that make you feel important and free. To me, the best hobby brings me pure joy and that sense of importance. The best hobby is more than just fun, because it has to give you discipline and love for what you do.

A guide to yourself

A hobby is also something that gives you quality time with yourself, and in this time you may ponder your feelings and thoughts more intimately. Because sometimes life gets too busy for us to ponder like this, hobbies are a wonderful source for making friendship with ourselves.

I find my writing, my painting, my drawing quite liberating; because it is what gives me pride, joy, self-discipline, and a sense of freedom and time to discover myself. And discovering ourselves is why we are alive, why we experience joy and misery, why we have the gift of self-awareness.

Digging deep…

What’s feeling sorry for yourself…??

That feeling of anger and frustration when things don’t go as planned, and when others don’t treat us the way we want, and when we make certain mistakes.

When we focus too much on this misery, our minds decide that to keep being positive is too much effort; and that is then when our minds shift to feelings of worthlessness and self-pity. Victimizing yourself takes little energy or effort.

How I deal with it.

I don’t let myself overthink things. What happens, happens. I concern myself with moving forward. And for this purpose, I make a schedule in my mind every day–cleaning, cooking, exercising, getting up at such and such time, my writing, walking the dog, learning new ways to market my books, etc.

It is all about the purpose you give yourself every day. Not about keeping busy, but about conditioning your mind to better habits far from any pointless overthinking.

What Ben has taught me.

For those of you who don’t know yet, Ben is the main character of my series “BENJAMIN JONES.” He is a 12-year-old shaman boy who has become an orphan.

In going on a magical journey to discover himself and his magic, he has taught me, and still teaches me, so much. I have created him, of course; however, he is a perfect reflection of me.

Sometimes we hide ourselves, or the truth about ourselves, deep beneath all we think we are; and so, through self-expression I have found freedom to dig deeper. He helps me discover myself and life.

All the self-pity, anger, and frustration goes away once you dig deeper into yourself. Not saying you don’t feel these anymore, but saying that your mind becomes free and doesn’t get attached to these negative feelings.

The strongest theme in the series

There are shamans, spiritual leaders, gods, demons, magical creatures, friends and foes in my series.  But the main theme is what we all experience, such being self-discovery.  It is because all that matters in this life is to grow our spiritual and moral values.

From becoming more spiritual and moral then we become better, and we start discovering ourselves and life; and thus everything in our lives turns to be better as well.  Magic exists and it is within ourselves, because, just like the main character in my series, we must experience that beautiful miracle in us through daily self-expression.

About life.

Sometimes we can feel sad, frustrated, disappointed. But being sad and seeing the unfairness in life is normal, because we all go through it, and because we are all trying to do our best with whatever understanding we have at such moment. But the challenge is to keep going in spite of feeling like this, and the key is nurturing yourself.

See, life is a projection of how you feel about yourself. We feel about life just the way we feel about ourselves. So then we can understand how important selfcare is. Tell yourself that things change and that adaptation to change is taking care of your mental health. If you don’t adapt to change, then you fight change; however, if you fight change then you will become stressed and more frustrated, even angry at yourself.

Better life quality

 “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

In my life, lifestyle, character and behavior daily, there is nothing more important than good nutrition. Think about it. Why are we alive right now, or what sustains us and gives us physical life…?? The energy inside our cells. And how is that energy replenished, maintained, made better or worse?? Food. Nutrition. This is what feeds our minds and bodies.

You may want to eat and drink whatever you want in your life, but you know this is true. And it takes a lot of self-discipline to eat right, to stop your ego and selfish desires for poison and acquire a better eating lifestyle. But it is all worth it, because life is about quality. If you have good energy in you, then you’ll be in a better mood to enjoy life, and you’ll be more creative and intelligent, and you’ll be a better man or woman in your relationships.

And what about self-care, self-love…?? Self-care is to properly nourish our bodies and minds. It is all about adopting good habits. It is all about training your mind to desire good, nutritious food. It is about being creative and cooking. It is about choosing what is better for yourself. It is about about attracting better in your life.

What brings happiness

So, what is morality?? And what does it take?? Is anybody really above it??

Some people act like they can cruise through life only pursuing their own pleasures.

So, why do people this?? And what is the connection between a good life and a great moral character??

It took me years of personal struggle, trial and error, many losses and tragedies; but I finally understood that no one is really above morality, specially me… Please check out my article “Critique on Morality.” that I think clarifies many things about it… Morality is the highest expression of love and understanding in the human being, because it is about empathy and doing what is healthy and right. Morality has nothing to do with our minds. Our minds may want to vote for this politician, or eat this or that food, or take revenge on somebody because we believe is just; however, these are just constructs and impulses of our minds, and also ways to please ourselves.

Morality goes with truth. The good life is not a life of money, position in society, a big family, traveling, the best education money can give; but it is moral character. Moral character gives us courage to never doubt our choices. With moral character I just follow what is healthy for myself and for others, and I don’t have to second guess myself because this moral character gives me freedom to be myself, my best self, and this makes me truly happy. Happiness comes when I do what is right. If I smoke, I will eventually get sick, maybe even suffer lung cancer. This is what will happen whether I want it or not. If I do not eat right, as I grow and my body changes I will suffer illnesses, obesity, will have many problems to enjoy my life. If I cheat on my loved ones, or embezzle money, or do illegal deals, or any other greedy action, then I will suffer the consequences one way or another, and I will not be happy with myself.

A happy life and moral character go hand in hand, but too often people try to get away with many immoral things while expecting to be truly happy. This is irrational. This is like jumping into the ocean without knowing how to swim, but at the same time expecting to enjoy yourself in the ocean. I think that people quite often live their lives unaware. Awareness of your mental states. That is crucial to live a good life, specially a life which is not bringing you anxiety. Any morality, if it’s true, is about the harmony in our minds. This harmony in our minds only exists if we do what is moral, not what we want but what is based on truth. Only truth brings happiness. So, remain aware of your choices and of what you do at all times. What are the consequences that this will bring me?? Why do I feel the need to do this?? Is anybody or anything pressuring me to do this?? Inquire, transform yourself; and don’t relay on others to know what is moral. Society does not know morality. Only the individual knows it.
