Cosmic forces

Ying & Yang

Health. Higher self-awareness. A strengthened spirit. Or Ying Yang balance. Two opposite forces or cosmic energies that complement each other and that live within us all.

Let’s just say what makes us human. It is our duality. The voices of negativity in your head. The voices of positivity in your head. Or as religion’s imagination goes: Angels and Demons, God and The Devil.

Positive & Negative

So, when we allow the forces of negativity to totally consume the way we think, we become filled with self-pity, with jealousy, with feelings of worthlessness and anger–all which leads us to physical illness.

And when we allow the forces of positivity to totally consume the way we think, we become overconfident, we lose connection with the pain and suffering of the world, we start to become naïve and emotionally swindled or controlled by others.

That is why to reach a balance in our lives, and in ourselves, is so important.

Excellence is reaching balance

So, from my experience, I thought about sharing some important benefits of reaching a healthy balance between the two:

-Inner peace and finding that true love for yourself (identity).

-Reduced anxiety, which leads to greater intelligence and creativity.

-Improved intuition, which guides you in life to make less fatal mistakes.

-Understanding your life’s true purpose, which leads you to find your true happiness.

Are you really in love…??

What love is not

Love is a not a label already made for you, or an opinion, or an established way out there. You can be in love with yourself and with your life, if you let go of the influence from society, let go of what your family expects from you, and just worry about self-development.

What love is

Love is essentially what makes you healthy, what makes you feel confident, what allows you to feel happy and connected to your life–no matter the drama or challenges in it. That is why religions, politics, family and friends can’t really give you this; for they can only offer you moments of joy and mental constructs.

Where love is

Only you can give you love, if you learn to spend time with yourself and enjoy it. It’s all about befriending you, taking care of you. Because, even though humans have been programmed for thousands of years to be social animals, true love and happiness do not exist in the world and in what it has to offer. It only exists in you.

The power you hold

The moment is always now

Rise up, start fresh, see the bright opportunity in each new day. That’s exactly the key to success, because that’s exactly the daily attitude that makes you a winner.

Stop worrying about what the future holds. The future is in the present. So, if you must worry, do so about the present, about doing your best in the present.

Each little thing you do now, even the most insignificant things, amounts to the future. And so, you heal your past by working on your present like this, and by giving your best in each moment like this.

Strengthening the bonds of love

True love is constant development

And that is the whole problem in society today, in how people have programmed themselves to recognize love. Just because you have opened your heart and mind to somebody, you think you deserve the same in return.

Or just because you are married, you start expecting unconditional and unquestionable affection and loyalty. But being human, when it comes to love, involves passion, commitment, desire, respect, always understanding more and more of how to keep that flame alive.

True love is wholeness

So love is not a given. We must develop ourselves further, better, and expand our understanding of that love. This includes all of it–the emotional part, the psychological part, the physical part, the sensual and sexual parts.

True love is wholeness, not just your poor understanding of it, not just what is known on the surface, not just what everybody else does. Learn more, because love is a mixture of many things to be mastered; and those things start as knowledge in different topics to expand your understanding, which never ends because it’s a journey to grow and grow until your last breath.

The birth of friendship

The purest connection

Nothing is stronger than friendship. This pure love/connection that brings trust, safety, loyalty, commitment to growth. I’m talking about the greatest and purest friendship there is: Friendship with yourself.

This type of friendship gets rid of self-doubt, self-neglect, patterns of self-pity, feelings of loneliness and self-loathing. It brings great trust and loyalty, so you can accept your flaws and work on yourself proudly.

True intelligence/A better world

Society is the way it is due to always focusing on the external–on what they say, on what they believe, on what to buy, on appearances, on following the thought and behavior of others, etc. If we were to focus on the internal, on befriending ourselves wholly, then expansion of self-awareness would make each one of us better human beings, for self-inquiry would bring true intelligence into our minds, thus a better world for all of us in every aspect would bloom.

Emotional beings

What’s not you

Quite often, we think we are being rational, true to ourselves, moral in our choices and behaviors even. The politicians we choose. The moralistic approach in relationships. How we judge what’s right and what’s wrong. Etc.

But, per science, 90% to 95% of what we choose and do, the way we see life and act, is highly unconscious; meaning we do according to our subconscious programming, just like robots or computers following their programming.

What’s you

So, to truly think for ourselves and be rational, guided by intelligence and empathy, without bias and emotional outbursts, we have to truly know ourselves and study our thoughts and feelings without being so impulsive. Following your anger, your frustration, your self-pity, your indignation, is letting yourself be enslaved.

Life is about freedom, because that is what true love is. Mental freedom is the first and most important step. Freedom so you can think clearly and not easily fall into the influence of others. Freedom to truly be yourself and not fall into the game of thoughtless groups. And freedom to see life, yourself, and others in the purest nature.

Go for greatness

Style & Uniqueness

The more I grow in personal wisdom and also in my writing craft, the more I think about what style and uniqueness mean in my life. And I like these following quotes, which made me think deeper about it:

-“Elegance is refusal.” ~ Coco Chanel.

-“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.” ~ Orson Welles.

“One of the really bad things you can do to your writing is to dress up the vocabulary, looking for long words because you’re maybe a little bit ashamed of your short ones.” ~ Stephen King.

Creating your style

So, for style to be wholeness you must create yourself in all aspect. Whatever you do, the way to be different and stand out is the way of uniqueness. So, If you have a unique style and you want to create a new way to go about things, then practice to master it. Do not listen to others.

Most people are attached to the path society has already established for them. But in order for you to achieve greatness, you have to leave the close-minded masses and the way they choose to enslave themselves to the established thought.

Break the rules properly

A billion people may do the same you do, but if you are unique and bring your own style to your work then you’ll be recognized by your originality. See, no one is better or worse. That feeling of being more or being less, that is your own ego.

Achieve self-control over it, then you can create your own image and reach your uniqueness. I always say that rules are meant to be broken, but it’s only acceptable to break them when you master your own style–in your writing, in business, in fashion, in dating, in marriage, in everything.

Under The Moon

Effects of the full moon

I personally find interesting the effects the moon has on life, as the sun has. So, I wanted to share some facts that I already knew and some others that I’ve found doing some research:

1- Veterinarians say that animals are more restless and unruly during full moon.
2- Migratory birds follow the patterns of the full moon for timing and finding their path.
3- The full moon amplifies charges in living cells.
4- Emergency rooms see more patients on full moon.
5- Ovulation and sexual desire peak during full moon.
6- Some people tend to become more impulsive and emotional (angry, excited, lustful, stubborn, etc.) nearing and during a full moon.

These are just some ways in which the moon affects us and other living beings. But there are, of course, effects produced on the actual environment around us as well.

Increasing self-awareness

The thing that I wanted to bring to your attention is that the moon affects our brain functioning (electric circuits/signals) and our emotional bodies (the way we feel) too, especially in the ones with less self-control who ignore this.

So, it’s all about knowledge of self and self-discipline. Here are some tips that I use to ground myself:

1- Meditation: it expands your awareness and brings harmony to your mind and body.
2- Cleanse: it means to clean your space. It is teaching your mind self-discipline through the everyday living, to be more healthy and to keep your personal space without clutter and looking more ordered.
3- Self-care: create more quality time for yourself. Study your thoughts and feelings in depth. Don’t just react to things, even to small things. Take a bath or do something calming for yourself. I have found that journaling is very liberating. It’s all about expressing yourself and letting more harmony spread in your body.

Balance & Harmony within

The beginning of experience

So, the most important thing in life, and the base or origin of everything we experience, is our well-being, our health of body and mind. We must reach harmony and balance within ourselves in order to reach love and happiness in our lives.

First and foremost then is what we eat, how we eat, and the times we eat. What I put in my body becomes the energy that makes me–regarding the way I think, the way I feel, the way I treat myself and others, the habits and the actions in all other aspects of my life.

Strengthen your immune system

Here are 2 things I follow daily to eat right and to stregthen my immune system. Perhaps you can find some use in these as well:

1- Limiting greatly your intake of sugars: Our bodies make Insulin. And insulin stimulates your liver and muscle cells to store glucose (sugar). It also inhibits your liver and kidneys from making glucose. Needless to say, insulin must be kept in harmony. If levels are too high then large amounts of fat are stored, bacteria festers, illnesses and allergies, etc. So, in order to balance glucose and keep it in harmony, you have to lower the ingestion of sugars.

2- Do not snack between meals: When we snack between meals, insulin levels rise, which means the balance and harmony in our physiology is broken. Losing weight and having a strong immune system is almost impossible, especially for most people age 30+. Besides, snacking between meals, contrary to popular belief, makes you more hungry and it does not leave your stomach time to clean itself.

Great joy and Purpose

The greatest feeling

How good is challenging yourself. To say “I can do more,” or “I can be more”. To find something we like, make it into a passion, and pushing ourselves to mastery. I personally have the example of my writing. As an Indie author, I carry my own style, my own voice, and the way I write and describe things is different than other authors.

Not better or worse, just different. It took me years to developed my craft, even more than a decade before publishing my first book. But I can say that there is no other feeling so great as to know you are really good at something you’re passionate about. And the fact that I’m always practicing and perfecting myself gives me great joy and purpose.

Training that feeling

And to increase that feeling of joy, of mastery, of knowing your craft, you must develop a schedule. Wake up early, exercise your mind and body, then take the time to practice what you love to do. This is my life, and that is why I write about this.

Because anyone with a strong desire, passion and purpose can do it. Never belittle yourself. Never look at others and compare yourself. You are unique. And you find that uniqueness in you by finding your passion and challenging yourself to become better and better at it. Practice! Practice! Practice!
