The reality of the self.

Why is laughter the best medicine..??

Because of how you feel. Because of the state of your mind. Because when you laugh, smile, make the negative into the positive, your mind and body go through a miraculous transformation. This transformation makes you shift your awareness, and so you feel better about yourself and your life.

Why does awareness matter…??

Awareness is conscious attention. When it comes to our minds everything is attention. If you focus (put attention) on the world, you will feel however the world wants you to feel. If you focus on yourself, you will feel however you choose to feel. Attention shifted inwardly is self-awareness, because your attention focuses on yourself and on how you feel.

Why increase in self-awareness…??

The more self-awareness, the less capacity the world and the situations in it have to affect you. You can feel sad, frustrated, angry; but, when your self-awareness levels are high, then your mind will be free and it’ll be easier for you to let the negativity go. When the negativity goes, you now can focus on cleaning your mind and bringing more positivity to it. This makes it easier to keep moving forward, think more clearly, and feel more love and happiness in your life.

You do matter. Believe it.

You matter

Life might be challenging. Life can have its ups and downs. Life can feel right down miserable at times. But know that you matter, and that is why you struggle. It is all about experiences to help you become stronger and see your own worth.

What matters is self-belief

To know that you matter, to find your worth, to feel better about yourself, is all a belief you have to create. A self-belief. That’s what gets you through all the things you don’t like or suffer in life. Focus on growing a strong self-belief by making better habits for yourself.

Laughing at your life/yourself

But while at it, choose to let it go and keep a smile on your face. Carrying anger, frustration, sadness and self-pity does not help you in the creation of better habits to help you feel better. So, what I do is to choose to see the positive, even if difficult, especially if difficult. I train my mind to seek the positive instead of the negative.

It’s about how you manage it

See the comedy of it all, because life itself is a comedy and not a tragedy. People choose to make it a tragedy, and they suffer it more like this. When you feel neglected, or wronged by others, or when you suffer a loss, etc. What matters is how you manage these. So raise above your pain, and remind yourself that these are all lessons/experiences we all have to go through one way or another.

The Subconscious of Man.

Our Subconscious Mind

90% of what we do comes from our subconscious programming. Man is a machine ruled by what lies deep in the dark corners of his subconscious. Mature people follow most beliefs and think they are true because they have been taught since childhood. Men treat women according to what they’ve learned from caretakers in childhood.

People eat following a pattern learned long ago. Etc. All this has been cemented in the subconscious of man, or woman. ‘It has been cemented’ means ‘it has been programmed’ into his mind. In his most powerful mind. In his subconscious mind.

He may recognize this programming or not. But he lives under the rule of this programming. The way he votes. The way he eats. The way he chooses relationships. The self-belief he carries, or lack thereof. It is all this in programming.

God & Devil

Man is both god and devil because the voices he obeys in his head make him either moral or immoral. He either blesses or curses himself by breathing life into these voices. But the voices he hears, which he may choose to call god (moral) or devil (immoral) are just his own making.

He creates these voices by building his own subconscious programming. If man, or woman, seeks to know himself then, he must be willing to look into himself, into the dark corners of his subconscious; and then, by means of new habits, change his programming accordingly.

Changing Your Programming

People keep busy all the time. If they’re not busy, they get bored easily and start overthinking. This doesn’t help. Try to seek the silence of your own mind, befriend it, learn to love it and don’t run away from it. Study the silence. Study deeply how you feel in this silence.

Observe and feel what you have gained from your past, what they have given to you, what you do in your life based on things from your childhood or youth. Does it make sense?? How is it helping you now?? Is it time to change your habits, including the way you think and feel??

I do this all the time. As a result, I have changed the way I eat and drink, the way I feel about myself, what I believe, what I consider truly important in my life, the way I treat women, etc. I am simply stating the truth here, that a mature person must study himself and leave his past programming; thus creating a new programming, a new way to approach himself and life.

Digging deep…

What’s feeling sorry for yourself…??

That feeling of anger and frustration when things don’t go as planned, and when others don’t treat us the way we want, and when we make certain mistakes.

When we focus too much on this misery, our minds decide that to keep being positive is too much effort; and that is then when our minds shift to feelings of worthlessness and self-pity. Victimizing yourself takes little energy or effort.

How I deal with it.

I don’t let myself overthink things. What happens, happens. I concern myself with moving forward. And for this purpose, I make a schedule in my mind every day–cleaning, cooking, exercising, getting up at such and such time, my writing, walking the dog, learning new ways to market my books, etc.

It is all about the purpose you give yourself every day. Not about keeping busy, but about conditioning your mind to better habits far from any pointless overthinking.

What Ben has taught me.

For those of you who don’t know yet, Ben is the main character of my series “BENJAMIN JONES.” He is a 12-year-old shaman boy who has become an orphan.

In going on a magical journey to discover himself and his magic, he has taught me, and still teaches me, so much. I have created him, of course; however, he is a perfect reflection of me.

Sometimes we hide ourselves, or the truth about ourselves, deep beneath all we think we are; and so, through self-expression I have found freedom to dig deeper. He helps me discover myself and life.

All the self-pity, anger, and frustration goes away once you dig deeper into yourself. Not saying you don’t feel these anymore, but saying that your mind becomes free and doesn’t get attached to these negative feelings.

The strongest theme in the series

There are shamans, spiritual leaders, gods, demons, magical creatures, friends and foes in my series.  But the main theme is what we all experience, such being self-discovery.  It is because all that matters in this life is to grow our spiritual and moral values.

From becoming more spiritual and moral then we become better, and we start discovering ourselves and life; and thus everything in our lives turns to be better as well.  Magic exists and it is within ourselves, because, just like the main character in my series, we must experience that beautiful miracle in us through daily self-expression.

The mind of good & evil.

Forces of evil

So, what do you consider forces of evil…?? What makes a person become swallowed by negativity, by feelings of worthlessness, by violent and hurtful memories and ideas in the present?? What makes a human being do anything??

Our minds. Nothing lives outside our minds. This is not spiritual. This is science. My mind can become filled with anxiety, thoughts of fear, anger, past memories that make me feel worthless. And this, of course, makes me act out and hurt myself and others–physical and/or emotional damage. I would do anything to get rid of the pain I carry.

Forces of good

So, I think is very important to be honest with ourselves. There are pressures in society. Bullying. Paying bills. Abuse. Words that hurt. Injustice. They will always exist in the world, and it won’t change. So, the truth is, what matters is the state of your mind, what you can control. Don’t let the world, your society, your friends and family overwhelm you and control the way you feel.

It is why creativity liberates us. Creativity being born from great imagination. It is the force of good that gives us the capacity to have inspiring ideas to leave the anger we feel, and the strength to find solutions to our troubles, and the power to communicate better the way we feel. Ben is learning this. Who is Ben?? A 12-year-old orphan boy. But, just like us, he feels all these burdens, confusions, darkness, and the desire to burn it all.

Clearer mind, Clearer life.

Whether that specifically is true or not, I really do not know. What I do know is that to think clearly we must be of sound mind. I base my life on this. I am an advocate for health. Good nutrition. Exercise. Letting go of past hurt. Anything that makes you lose clarity in your choices. Seeking the best daily habits to increase your moral standing.

We are our habits.

We have a powerful subconscious mind. That subconscious, whether we know it or not, fills itself with all the things we do and experience, with all the things we hear, with all the things we see and give attention to. From birth to death, we are guided to do and make choices by our subconscious mind and its content.

That is why I choose the best habits for myself and suggest the best habits for you. I suggest you stop yourself and look at your habits, at your life choices, at your mind and at your feelings. What is the content of all this?? Are you leading yourself to better choices, to the increase of great moral values in you, to change into better choices for yourself and your future??

Life gets clearer when your mind gets clearer.

I grew up with some anxiety. I did have many problems in school, and as a result I was continually being moved or transferred. I specially had problems when we moved to U.S from Argentina and my father passed away. But through it all I’ve learned that my mind is everything, which meant having control over my own mind and not falling prey of the situations around me.

So, look at your own mind, conscious and subconscious. Find out your weaknesses and why you think, feel and do this or that way. Seek to understand yourself to create better choices every day for yourself. Life is just a reflection of the clarity in your mind. I know is hard to understand this because we all carry our own anxiety and problems in life. And there’s no judgment from me here. There’s only the will to bring some insight and help you understand yourself, because that is how we truly see life clearly and grow as human beings.

Self-expression, the only Art.

Art is self-expression. To me, it is the most important thing in life. Because better communication requires the capacity for self-expression. Better choices in life require expressive thoughts, and that is thinking that can be creative and hopeful, visionary and confident in what can be built in the future.

Tips for self-expression:

1- My first and biggest tip would be to always be open to trying new things, new conversations, new habits. Learn new beliefs, even if they seem uncomfortable to you. Expand your understanding and leave any attachment to old views and ways of seeing the world.

2- A second tip would be to read and also watch movies. But read and watch inspiring things, and specially fantastical things. Such are stories or things that can really make you envision and create new thoughts, maybe even silly or unreal thoughts. It’s all about remembering the child’s creative mind again. I find that fantasy mainly does that for me.

My art:

I found self-expression in my artform, writing for my readers, because to have your own outlet to transform your frustration and anxiety into something useful is what it’s all about. I recommend you find your passion, commit to it, work at it daily; and whatever that passion is must make you more expressive and give you more freedom.

An example of my wring follows. This is a coming-of-age fantasy series. Middle grade/Young adult. This is #3 in the series BENJAMIN JONES. Coming May 31st 2022. This one is titled: “The Book of 1st Witchcraft.”

“So, under the guidance of Aldorf, they brought the casket, or magical box keeping Ben’s body, to The Place of Zaronn, or to the place of the elders.  And this wasn’t a place to bury the dead, but this was their most sacred place… 

“This was atop the other side of the enormous mountain, and it was a vast extension where their elders communicated with gods from different dimensions. This was indeed a divine oracle of sorts, and there were temples or places of holy meditation, and there were glowing trees spread throughout, and also thick pillars engraved with messages from the gods in different languages… 

“And so it happened that the snow wasn’t falling anymore, and in fact it was like it never had fallen because the soil on the mountain was dry and rid of any frost whatsoever. And as the strong orcs carried the magical casket on their shoulders, suddenly so, it started to quake violently on its own…

“And one of the creatures was hurt on his shoulder due to it, and the box thus was dropped on the hallowed ground.  SCRAATT!—  But, even though it had been thrown from more than 6 feet in height by brute reaction, the said box did not break or even suffer a mere scratch…” 

I started this book series to bring some entertainment, but also bring some insights and moral guidance to myself and to the reader. I always liked the worlds of ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Percy Jackson,’ so I wanted to write in the same narrative and adventure style.

Building the dream…

Life is for the brave

This life is just a dream where we create our own experiences as we go along. We have joy, we suffer, we find excitement, we find misery, we fight negativity, we are brave enough to keep being positive even in the challenges. So, we live by keeping the dream alive and by creating the best dream with what we got.

Our brains create the dream. The very real dream. Your brain then tells stories to itself. Stories you make come alive through your will to experience them. Experiencing them is to act on them, and sometimes we need bravery, and we need to let go of the sadness and misery we may feel.

Push yourself. Imagine the best outcome.

There is no point in thinking, believing, allowing the negative in our minds. Overthinking kills the dream, it pollutes it. I always imagine the best for me, does not matter what my situation is; for the mind is as strong as the thoughts we allow it to have, so allow your mind to have the best thoughts.

Push yourself through the fear of not knowing what will happen, and do it with patience and faith. That is how we build the best dreams. And that is the purpose of this physical life, and it is found in the journey as you push yourself through it all.

Free coming-of-age fantasy…

“Ben took a  few  steps  forward,  acknowledged  the  animated  group  of  trees,  and  then  said,  “Thank  you!  What  I  meant  was,  how  is  it  possible  that  you  can  talk?!”

     “What  do  you  mean??  You  can  talk!  Why  couldn’t  we?!”  protested  the  willow  tree.  

     When  he  said  this,  everybody  began  talking  again.  The  mumbling  of  words  filled  the  night’s  air.  Then  the  ancient  tree  on the other side spoke  to  Ben  again,  “Come  near  me,  son.  What’s  your  name…??”

     Ben  approached  the  tree  with  a  quiet  ease  now.  “My  name  is  Benjamin.  You  can  call  me  Ben.”

     An  intimation  of  memories  rushed.  “Benjamin.  Benjamin…  Yes.  I  have  seen  your  face  before.  And  that  name  sounds  familiar  too.”  His  voice  sounded  more  pleasant  now,  as  if  talking  to  an  old  friend… ” ~ The Call of the shaman.


This was a section of the #1 in the epic series BENJAMIN JONES.

I started this book series to bring some entertainment, but also bring some insights and moral guidance to myself and to the reader. I always liked the worlds of ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Percy Jackson,’ so I wanted to write in the same narrative and adventure style.

But also I wanted to join it with the world of spirituality and human goodness. We all have moral values in us and the strength to act on them, even if sometimes the struggle in life clouds our judgement. So, I know readers will enjoy this book, as it brings some needed adventure and insight into daily life.

Silent healing.

And it is so that sometimes words don’t even compare to silence.

The silence of a gaze, of a simple smile, of hand holding, of us.

There’s no need for arguments, win or lose, superior or inferior.

The mind full of chatter deceives the purpose of love.

The mind full of chatter must be changed to a silent mind.

Quite often we think that expression is about words, about arguments, about who’s louder. But expression is about communication, and communication sometimes requires a commitment to communicate without words. Sometimes is what we don’t say that finally tells people who we are. Sometimes not reacting to provocations says more than long and heated arguments.

To be calmer & more harmonious.

To be more direct and struggle less.

By remaining calm and collected, by letting go of the desire to win then, we actually win. I suffered from anxiety for long, so I know about heated arguments and an anxious mind filled with impatience. But what I needed was really the time to myself to understand that a more calm approach is healing, letting go of the anger and frustration, respecting myself by not engaging in silly arguments.
