Better lives

Too much anxiety

I feel that worry is only truly useful when we can change an outcome. Too much worry, that anxiety that makes you feel fearful and frustrated, self-doubt and self-conscious, can be really damaging for our well-being.

I’m not talking about the worry of the mother for her son on his 1st day of school. I’m talking about the worry of, for example, what other people think of you, or the worry that comes from thinking about the job you applied for, or the worry from your financial situation that is also stressing you and making you angry even with the people around you.

Just do your best

We live better lives if we are brave, which means detaching ourselves from this useless worry and anxiety, letting go from the mental ritual of overthinking. I always say ‘I’ll change whatever I can. The rest is not up to me’. Life is a roller coaster. Up and down.

Sometimes we don’t even know where it’s going. But the only power, the greatest power we have in fact, is to steer our mind into greater purpose. This means that we should seek to be more serene and easygoing. Go with the flow. Do our best, let the rest be.

Your own space

My creative space

Currently writing the 1st chapters of my new book, #5 in the series, “Son of Darkness”. (By the way, sorry for the obscurity of the image below. The day I took that photo was a very dull and cloudy day and not much light entered the window of my room.)


This is my small place to be. The nook where I create my joy. My simple desk, where I make things happen and I create my stories. Everybody needs a place where they feel passionate, secure, creative, confident.

A place where you can recharge and wrestle with your thoughts, self-explore and come up with greater insights for your life. I hope you have a place of your own, whatever and wherever that place is.

It’s about getting rid of stress, self-heal, add more deep thinking to come up with new ideas, and strengthening the trust and belief in yourself. Because it’s all about health of body and mind to be able to love yourself and your life entirely.

Vast horizon

The mental prison

We all have proplems–financial, in relationships, personal, etc. And the mind can be a prison. When one lives in one’s own mental world, great distress, great overthinking. This can really drive a person mad, and make this one aggressive towards others as well.

We may even lose focus of what is important in our lives, neglect ourselves and those close to us. I personally let it go. It’s a mental practice, never becoming attached to anything at all; but especially to those things I have no control over.

The greatest freedom

And letting go is not so easy at times. But is freedom what we must seek in life, not more debt, not more beliefs, not more traditions, not more commitments to something we are not passionate about. But freedom. Always freedom.

Freedom is psychological. To feel free to think clearly. To feel free from overthinking and the burdens it brings. We will love life according to how we feel. If we feel positive, there’s a bigger chance and capacity for us to be happy and in love.

A positive shift

Thinking positive

Thinking positive attracts better things into your life. Thinking positive changes the way you see, feel, experience life. So, thinking positive, especially when your mind is full of anxiety and uncertainty, shifts your whole mindset, your whole character and persona. In fact, positive thinking gets rid of all anxiety.

Improving your life

This leads you to a better lifestyle, because thinking like this is really self-care, which means you’ll grow passion to better yourself in all other aspects. It makes you more attractive. It gives you confidence and vision for a better future. So all your life improves as a consequence of this inner change.

Anxiety

Feeling anxious

Anxiety is what happens when we obsess about the future or even about the past. Maybe something or someone we lost. Perhaps some tragedy or very personal issue. This overthinking becomes a terrible dread which splits our focus and makes us lose sight of the moment.

And, of course, to feel anxious is very normal, very common, especially for women; but it can become a serious mental illness and truly distort reality, even bringing acute paranoia and serious depression. It is a very serious matter in the world.

Train your mind

Feeling nervous, restless, tense. Having a sense of panic or doom. Having an increased heart rate. Breathing rapidly. Feeling weak or tired. I met some people in the past with these symptoms. It can make you afraid of even going out, being social, or opening your heart to someone.

But anxiety really is your ego (your lower self, the one who wants control) fighting your higher self (the one who wants to live in peace). So, it’s really a dissonance deep-rooted within your psyche. It’s a lack of silence in your mind.

So, seek ways, habits, to silence your mind; ways to train your mind to accept silence as the new normal. So when you feel anxious you can easily switch to a silent mind and focus on something more inspiring.

Talking to the best

Self-talk

I’ve read in a scientific article long ago that self-talk is very important. I always remember that article because I consider self-talk extremely important in my life. Life can be extremely difficult, with many pressures and ugliness; however, the most important weapon we have against all that is our own mind–our mentality or mental state.

Good communication daily

How am I doing?? Why do I care about what others think and say about me?? What is the best step to take to accomplish my passions and goals?? Why am I being so impulsive?? I ask myself questions like these daily, and many more.

Because in order to know myself better I need to dig deep and treat me as my best friend, and that means to care for myself and be interested about myself. I must establish communication, respect, and trust with myself. It might sound silly, but, in all honesty, love and happiness will only grow in you if there is good communication daily.

The growth of love

Respect & Commitment

Love is experienced by our minds as a process, and it must be respected and given time to bloom under nature’s law. Love only requires 2 main components from you: Respect and commitment to make it grow.

Respect the process

Rushing into it doesn’t really help it grow. Love in relationships is like a muscle: If you go to the gym a few times, you won’t see results because the muscle fibers are working under your skin.

But if you faithfuly stick to your gym routine weeks or months, you will start to see results because now you can see your actual biceps growing. So, quiet your anxious mind and respect the process, then remain committed to the task of growing that affection, that love.

How it conquers all

Even the most heartbroken, depressed and shy among us can grow love. It is for anybody willing to respect its process and commit to it. Persist through the tough times, through the moments of self-doubt, through the anxiety and panic your mind creates at times. That is how true love becomes stronger and conquers all.

Critical…

Stress

Stress is a slow killer–killer of ideas, killer of positive attitude, killer of capacity for joy, killer of all health and good manners. If you have trouble sleeping, if your mind has problems shutting down and relaxing, then check your levels of stress. Personally, I have experience when it comes to stress and anxiety, which is why I started meditation years ago.

It really is that serious. You want to enjoy your life and what you do in it. That is the whole purpose of being alive. So, learn to manage your stress; because, I know, quite often, one may not see one’s stress as a critical life issue. Stress, undiscovered or not acknowledged, leads to many other psychological and physiological issues; and it changes your genes–the content and information of your actual DNA.

The path of love

Love

The purpose of life is love. We all want to experience love. Seeking love, which is all the good and happiness, man falls into fear of not having it. This fear makes mankind do horrible things–like war, like bullying, like cheating and hurting each other, etc.

But all this fear creates a bigger distance and pushes away any capacity for love in us. Love then is a peaceful mind and not a mind which seeks desperately. Love must not be sought. Love must be discovered in you.

Beyond the conventional

To be discovered in you then, the seeking has to stop. Jumping from relationship to relationship. Going out with friends all the time. Pretending for others just to be accepted. All this has to stop.

As long as the mind seeks, obviously, the mind is too busy with the external to discover the internal. And for love to be discovered then, you must be fully aware of the internal. It is a rebellious path, because you must go against the norm that says to look outside you.

Greatest knowledge

Knowing yourself

Sounds too spiritual, doesn’t it?? Sounds like some ‘Buddha mysticism’, right?? Well, it’s simpler than that actually. It means to understand the deep roots of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. People all over the world become impulsive, they follow beliefs, try to fit in with others.

Why?? Because they do not find an identity within themselves, and this makes them anxious, disturbed, even violent, and so they feel the need of justifying this by joining others that have no identity like them. So, what happens in this state of mind??

People follow ideas, opinions, philosophies, rules that others set for them. Could be parents telling them this or that. Could be religions introducing beliefs into their minds since young. Could be politics based purely on satisfying one group. Could be little groups of “friends” just “having fun”.

Why knowing yourself…??

Knowing yourself is understanding yourself. There are many benefits, but I will mention the most important ones, at least for me.

1- You realize and build great self-love, which takes you to focus entirely on creating better, healthier, more positive habits daily. This grows your confidence, you begin to appreciate more the time with yourself, and you increase your self-esteem in every aspect of your life.

2- Your understanding of others, of the world, grows massively and gives you so much insight and knowledge, and all this insight and knowledge takes away your frustration, misery, jealousy, violent and revengeful thoughts.

3- You become more wise in your decisions, you start growing a deep insight, some call it Third Eye, into better ways, better ideas, new strategies that help you see other paths as your self-awareness expands. And this expands as well your capacity to be truly happy and to make others around you happy as well.
