To remind yourself…

So is life

Sometimes it’s easy to lose purpose, or vision, or that strength to keep going in life. I deal with this too, and I have to catch myself in this desperation. Because sometimes we don’t get what we want, or we are not doing as well as we hoped, or we lost something or someone important.

Well, this is life. It happens to the best of us. The challenge is to become aware that we feel this depression, because sometimes we are too lost in our own thinking.

Remember your value

But one thing I’ve learned is that, no matter how bad the situation gets, I can always remind myself that I’m worthy, that I’ve made it this far in my life because I am good at something. See, I think the worst one can do is to forget the value each one of carry inside.

I don’t know you, but I don’t need to know you really. Because we all have a past. We have failed, we have tried, we have been lost; but we have also been successful, proud of ourselves, joyful at some past achievement.

So, the smart thing is to remember that we’ve made it to this point; and that we have conquered, we have built ourselves, we have our unique experience in something. From there, just keep on learning and moving on, building a better future and enjoying your journey in life.

Better thoughts.

So, what is a thought…?? Isn’t it a stream of perceptions, or perception, of life, of existence, and of everything in it?? Thought is a substance which brings reality to the world then, because all we think and feel is originated from perceptions of ourselves as human beings and of the world as the collective. So, your perceptions will create your experience, how you feel, what you understand, your persona. It’s wise then to make sure you nourish your mind with the best thoughts or with the perceptions which will help you remain in love and happy as you live your life. I think we can all agree to that fact.

I have many personal problems, burdens from my past, even situations which bring me negative reactions; however, it is not these which trouble me in reality, but it is the thoughts I follow in my mind, the thinking I choose to have the one which really makes me unhappy. To be attached to anger and frustration when I see people who annoy me. To be attached to jealousy and hatred when I see people who have what I do not have. To be attached to self-pity and resentment when I remind myself of my poor or painful past. All these thoughts, this attachment process better put, are what make me unhappy.

So, the quality of our thoughts matters when it comes to moving on, feeling love, being happy in life. The quality of my thinking is the origin of my experience as a human being, person, individual on this earth. And, even though I know it is difficult to maintain positive and motivational thinking sometimes, it is worth it; because I am worthy of love and happiness. And there is no one who can give me love and happiness but myself, through my own thinking, through the elevation of my thoughts amidst the issues and turmoil in my life. I don’t seek excuses. You shouldn’t seek excuses either. Because everything we feel, experience, live, starts with a thought. So, let us make the best thoughts for ourselves.

My experience with meditation

In my own experience with meditation. Take it easy. Don’t rush into an outcome. Don’t expect great results fast. The main things are commitment, persistency, patience. These are a must if we are serious about meditation. Now, this is about the kind of meditation where you focus on your breath and in time you increase you’re awareness. Many people sit on a chair, peacefully; and for them this is meditation. I respect that. But that is not what this post is about. For me, meditation is all about increasing self-awareness, creativity and cognition, and also easier detachment from all suffering–like anger, frustration, the thought of death, society’s influence, etc.

So, meditating. When I started, more than 10 years ago, this was very difficult for me. I had rage issues and became really anxious and bothered when I first started to feel the deep silence of meditation. Thoughts and feelings which had been buried deep inside had started to come out, and this was very disturbing, it was hard for me to face them. Once you truly meditate, your thoughts will rush. Your innermost troubles and burdens. In my case, this really irritated me–physically, psychologically, emotionally. But I stuck with it through the years and saw myself awakening, I witnessed my creativity improving, and my understanding of myself and my own faults mainly became clear and undeniable. This made me change and become superior to the person I was.

But, let me be honest here, meditation is not a quick fix, or a cure-all, not in any sense; and whoever tells you it is, might be because they’re trying to sell you something. One thing to have in mind though, you will see improvement if done right; however, not judging here, but you must understand that many people frustrate themselves because they do not do it right. It’s all about your slow breathing. Focus on it. Because breathing is what connects the state of physical life to the state of physical death, so to master your breathing in meditation gives you greater access to wisdom to understand both states of existence. If you deviate and become distracted, come back to it. Come back to your breath as many times as you become aware. This is practicing awareness, when you come back to your breathing. Meditation is not about becoming perfect or doing the practice perfectly; but about committing and not quitting, it requires inner strength and focus. So, never quit. Keep going.

Creative Dawn

What is the one thing that differentiates humans from other animals…??

What makes possible everything in our lives…??

-In relationships, two persons planning unity and compromise.

-In envisioning a future outcome, a new possibility.

-In the ideas and insight to create, to innovate.

-In the intelligence to persevere and create a new path in life.

What is it that makes this possible…?? It is ‘imagination’: This wonderful phenomena is what betters our lives. Because this phenomena is what brings you the light of psychological expansion and freedom. Imagination goes hand in hand with great creativity, or it should; because all of us have great imagination, but not many of us great creativity. So, what’s the difference?? Why do some people have great creativity and others do not?? It is all starting with imagination. And like everything in life, imagination must be used, practiced, worked. Here’s a simple, but very direct example. What happens if you stay in bed or sitting and you don’t use your legs for a long time??

What happens is that your leg muscles lose strength, stamina; and so, it becomes truly difficult, and painful, whenever you get up to walk after such a long time. The same is with imagination. For it to be powerful, insightful, to bring intelligence and vision in your day-to-day life, it must be crafted and practiced to become great creativity. You must focus on something truly important and interesting to you, and craft, create, build your creativity. And this is not only reserved for artists, but it is reserved for anyone who seeks a better life, a better career, a better relationship, great lovemaking, great personality development, better mood and attitude, superb ideas and solutions for any stressful or serious problem you get in your life.

Everything becomes better, easier, more enjoyable with great creativity. This is because great creativity means an expansion of mind. Great creativity makes you more intuitive, more in touch with your fun side. Great creativity helps you become more easygoing, relaxed, able to see beyond the flaws and weaknesses of others, even of yourself so you gain more confidence. Imagine yourself laughing at your problems, in your relationship, in your job, in your life in general. This laughing means that your mind is not stressed, anxious, frustrated; therefore, you can now be more relaxed, and find better solutions, and be more flexible to see beyond this problem.

Imagine you let go of focusing on the flaws and things you do not like about your significant other. This means you let go of judging the other person, and now you are more centered in the best qualities of the other person. This also makes you more enjoyable, more attractive in all aspects–being mentally, emotionally, physically. And what about your moods and personality. Great creativity also allows you to access easily a more positive persona and attitude. And now you see life with different eyes, love and happiness are more attainable, and you easily choose how to feel in certain situations which might otherwise stress you and make you upset.


And now…

-We all keep great darkness inside…

-We all battle great darkness daily…

-We all have demons with which we struggle…

-But what really matters in life is what we do with these. It is about how we use and transform that darkness, those demons…

Truth (video)

Originality is individuality.

And what is to be an individual…??

It is to be yourself fully, without copying, without trying to fit in with the crowd, and without following what others say and do blindly.

Originality, individuality, to stand on your own, to be real, authentic. What is it…?? It has to do with freedom to be truly yourself, truly unique. And this, of course, leads us to truth. What is truth…?? Let’s carefully think about it:

Truth is something which is based on 3 things. 1- Individuality, 2- Understanding, 3- Moral values.

1- Individuality: To actually know truth is to think for yourself, by yourself, and not follow the beliefs, lifestyles and habits established by the very ignorant society.

2- Understanding: To actually know truth you must ponder things, see your own fault in every aspect, and let go of your psychological attachments to pride and self-pity.

3- Moral values: Truth itself can only be applied, not thought and felt. (The illusive process of thinking and feeling does not make you truthful.) And to apply it, you leave excuses, you stop blaming others, you see beyond your ego, and you work on your character by doing what is healthier and better in your life without making excuses.

Let it go.

What makes people act in harmful ways towards themselves and towards others…??

What they carry inside becomes quite often the monster and the tragedy of their present lives.

The secret is to let go, lose your attachment, practice better habits, and create new inspirations and new ways of thinking. Because we all carry our burdens, our challenges, and even past memories which might be coming back to haunt our present; but it is extremely important for your health to be more easygoing, more accepting, without less judgment and without making a big deal out of everything. Your mind and body requires you to accept yourself as you are, with all the burdens, flaws, mistakes, and things you secretly struggle to hide. This is the enemy. By hiding it, by escaping it, you give it more strength, more energy to alter your personality and make you choose wrongly in life.


And nothing is more damaging to the way we think and feel than being uptight and not flexible to life’s up and downs. Whatever happened, let it go. And whatever is bothering you now, is not actually bothering you. What presents itself as annoying, burdensome, challenging, is your own ego, your preconceived notion of things and your attachment to the way you want things to be. Let your mind rest, without all this anxiety and rigid perspectives of things. Your ego makes you act out and subconsciously you create a toxic program, a mental habit which creates more burdens and problems for you to believe as real


So, you are your own enemy; but you don’t even know it. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Become acquainted with your enemy (ego) and learn to become more relaxed and adventurous. Don’t put the effort into thinking more ways to be anxious and upset; but put that effort instead into creating better habits, new thoughts, new perspectives, and to make yourself more understanding and creative in terms of life changes. Life goes well. Life goes not as well. We all go through this roller coaster. But the secret is to remain new all the time. Don’t let it consume you. Think freshly. Be more flexible. Not only for your relationships with people, but also for the relationship with yourself, with your past, with your present, with your thoughts of a future, and for that relationship with life itself.


“Life is a dream to be deciphered only by a dreamer,” he said. “To lose yourself in the dream, to learn how dreams are built, that is the point of life”

The aware life

Why is the world the way it is…?? How to see past this..?? How to let go of my own negativity…??

The world can be challenging, people dying of hunger, illnesses, great natural disasters, and every immoral choice you can imagine. No one can deny this. You can see this wherever you look.

But it is in us to wake up each morning and find some miracle in our lives. Instead of thinking about the worst that could happen, I think about the positive that will happen. The positive that will happen is not about what will happen per se; but about my own mental attitude, the content of my thoughts, me letting go of anxiety no matter what happens. It is about my mental freedom. If my self-talk steers away from harmony, if the voices in my head start seeking the negative and loudly shout the pain from failure, then it means that I must become more aware of myself and steer my thoughts towards something positive and helpful in my day.

How you feel, and how you experience life, will be a result of your daily self-talk. Do you punish yourself because you “failed” at something?? Are you judgmental in the way you see your moments in life?? What about the voices in your head about your past…?? Are they loud and always bringing up the heartache and tragedies you lived?? Can you let go of this?? Can you not remain attached to the voices that bring anxiety into your life?? Because if you want happiness, you must let go, you must train your mind to seek positivity in the negative, to see the beauty in the ugly. Not saying this is easy, but just saying this is the only way.

Please see my article about happiness here: The essence of happiness. We can then say that a person’s character is his/her daily thinking. I will become the lover of my life, no matter what happens in it, if I remain self-aware, which is to remain focused in my daily self-talk. I will be what I tell myself daily. If I tell myself daily that life is struggle and that nobody gives me a chance, then that is the way I will remain; because this kind of self-talk is not giving me hope and strength to become better than I am now. But if I tell myself that I can get better and that I will keep on looking for better opportunities, then I will get stronger and change my life; because this kind of self-talk gives me hope and it revives my human spirit.

And it is all about keeping that flame alive (the human spirit), that passion for life which resides in you, maybe buried deeply; however, it never disappears completely as long as you are alive, so seek it. This is your challenge in life. This is my challenge in life. We are all here to keep that flame alive. Because life gets better only in this way.

Habits of excellence.

Life is no more than a reflection of our daily habits. For example, if you eat unhealthy foods, you will at some point struggle with illnesses, suffer physical pains, and consequently lose positivity and energy in life in all aspect. Or if you choose to let people treat you the way they please, this habit will bring you self-doubt and it will keep your mind anxious and chained to the opinions of others. And how about always letting politics frustrate you and occupy a big chunk of your thoughts??

As human beings, we are biological machines. We are ruled and made by our habits, not a single choice in the moment; but we are what we do every day. For example, I like to exercise, meditate, be ordered and clean in my daily activities, even in the most little things like cleaning the apartment and editing my upcoming young adult fantasy novel daily, BENJAMIN JONES. Fiction characters.. Step by step, the small habits like washing my dishes as soon as I finish eating. These small habits make my character and guide me into making bigger habits stick.

To adopt better habits, these are some of my suggestions. If they work for me, they might as well work for you:

1- Whenever you feel low in energy, depressed, down for some reason, is the best and most critical time for you to push yourself into better habits. Procrastination becomes a habit of self-destruction if you let it poison you.

2- Stop watching TV, reading about politics, and spending your time doing things which won’t help towards your self-development. Instead, put your mind and heart into things which help you gain self-esteem, self-worth, knowledge to actually better your life. For example, strengthen your mind with scientific facts about nutrition and about the way to expand your knowledge into certain fields.

3- Start writing, whether a journal or whatever it is. Writing daily, pondering words to express something clearly on paper. This expands your mind and gives you liberation, because doing this daily serves the purpose of letting out your emotions. One of the greatest burdens of people is not to know how to express themselves with clarity, keeping things inside, frustrating themselves because they cannot truly make themselves be heard by others. The habit of writing, whatever it is, powers your mind so it can study your own emotions and make you feel more confident about yourself.

To conclude, excellent habits are not born out of excellence. We all start from mediocrity or from messiness. Excellent habits are born step by step. First, with a mentality of seeking true success and self-improvement. Second, the courage to make your ego uncomfortable and step out of your comfort zone. Third, you improve your daily habits slowly but steadily; and you do it with a mind which envisions health and great success.

Better brain. Better life.

The brain is your doorway or bridge to physical life. And this doorway or bridge must be kept strong and healthy. If your brain is allowed to age and become weak, then all sorts of illnesses and immoralities will possess your body while your very life becomes meaningless. One can keep feeling young and strong until the last breath; but most people allow their brains to age, so they cannot understand these words.

In order to keep your brain young and strong, obviously, one must adopt excellent habits.

1- No alcohol. No excess fats. Food must be well watched over. You must put in you all the different nutrients, vitamins, proteins, and all that which your body needs to develop with excellence. Scientific knowledge is what will lead you to health.

2- Now, also have in mind the situations in your life, more specifically the way you react to them. Always try to avoid stress and unnecessary frustration. Train yourself to seek inspiration away from dilemmas or worries. When the mind is filled by anxiety, your brain cells in time start dying. This brain cell death affects your entire nervous system and the immune system.

3- As mentioned, anxiety is terrible for the healthy development of the brain. So, you must seek the opposite of anxiety, which is silence, harmony, peace. I am talking about being with yourself, not always hanging out with others. When your brain frequencies are calm, then your brain begins creating new pathways or nervous tissue. This brings more insight, creativity, intelligence. And it also brings youth, beauty, positivity into you, reflected in your physical body, and seen in the way you respond to life itself.

4- Your brain requires nurture, care, attention, just like a relationship with another requires the same. This means to keep it always fresh and clean of toxins. Exercise does this magic. It doesn’t mean that you should spend hours exercising. If you also take care of the food you eat (#1), then just 10 minutes of exercise a day might be just what is needed. Exercise is like oiling your car, adding all the liquids, rotating the tires, doing the usual maintenance. Your body, as your brain, is your car; and exercise is like all the maintenance which keeps your car running smoothly.

To conclude, you can have all the ambitions, desires, pursuits you want; however, true success is not out there but inside you. How you feel, the quality of your life. This is true success, love, happiness. The quality of your life is the quality of your brain.

Make your life better.

How often one complains and talks about the negative side of something that happened…?? One does it so often that it gets recorded in the subconscious and we automatically do it daily. But this brings negativity into our minds, where we only focus on the struggle, on the bad side, on the things we do not like. And so our character, our inner strength and capacity for confidence and motivation dies with our mindset.

So, in order to bring a radical change into our daily mindset, we must begin to focus on the good, on the positive, on the small inspiration. Don’t say there is none. The miracle lives in each moment, in each situation, in each hardship; however, you must choose to see it. So, train your mind in this, so your character grows; and thus your life gets better.
