To a better life.

“I think if you stop bad habits, and you stop long enough, you develop good habits.”  ~ Jordan Knight; American singer-songwriter and actor.

“The key to forming good habits is to make them part of your ‘rituals.’  I have a morning ritual, afternoon ritual, and Sunday ritual.   It’s one way to bundle good habits into regular times that you set aside to prepare yourself for the life you want. Rituals help you form habits.”  ~ Lewis Howes; American author, entrepreneur, former professional Arena League football player, and social media expert.

The mind is the seat of all that we do, better put, ‘the seat of all habit;’ and so, most habits are done subconsciously, our minds conditioned since birth, but in order to make those subconscious habits conscious we must self-reflect, inquire within ourselves and watch how we feel and think, analyze our daily behaviors with conscience before doing them.

26169631_407890832977618_7609864089813573201_n
In order to create a good and truly happy life, and in order to create a successful and unique one, good thoughts and intentions are not enough; that is to say, good thoughts and intentions are important, but if you do not act on them, if you do not change your behaviors, is because your lazy ego, which does not like to get out of its comfort zone, is still ruling you and your life.

Good daily habits and a strong, healthy mind go hand in hand, and these are the cornerstones upon which all good actions in life are built; and so, you cannot be truly awaken if good habits and a strong, healthy mind do not dictate your behaviors daily.

You cannot be truly awaken just because you have good knowledge and deep thoughts, but these should be carried in your daily habits as well, otherwise they are null, void, an illusion of great and ego-centered activity.

Create good habits by analyzing yourself and your daily steps, understand that this process must be taken seriously in order for real and great change to come your way, and be conscious about each step you take:

Developing+skills+for+change +Creating+a+personal+plan

The road to being truly great in life must be reality, built facts which speak of your superior and wiser awakening; but a nice thought, a nice belief, deep knowledge, deep conversations, etc., these are not reality, these are not facts.

Thus, actions, real change, good behaviors which build and create, which mold and sculpt you like a masterpiece to make your life a masterpiece as well, yes, this is reality, these are facts you can trust for happiness and success.

What defines you…

“Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfillment.” ~ Tony Robbins; American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and life coach.

“The healthiest competition occurs when average people win by putting above average effort.” – Colin Powell; American elder statesman and four-star general in the United States Army.

The ego-driven man, the one who lives focused on the fake thrill of material success, the one who lives envisioning a better future constantly, is the man who dwells in obsession and does not understand life itself, thus he makes selfish competition and running over others priority in his own life, thus he forgets his own greater self in the process.

dd2ec9767148a0f1ce373974ae6ab088
But how can this man ever stop his own mind from searching and enjoy the moment if he is always seeking thrills and excitement…??  And how can this man experience the happiness living in each moment, whether considered good or not so good moment, when his mind is always lost in the outer pursuit of money and pleasures…??
This man can never know true happiness because for him happiness is a mere concept where he lives, in his mind, in his ego-driven lifestyle of selfish competition; thus, this man seeks out there constantly for value and for blissful experiences, but he never finds them because he misses the eternal condition within.
He indeed misses that spark of love and intelligence, of wisdom and peace, living beyond his own ego-centered activity which keeps him always busy making money and trying to find ways to entertain himself more and more while escaping from his own inner emptiness.  He thus misses life’s moments with himself and his loved ones because he dwells in his rushing mind.

This lost man seeks things out there with the ego-driven process of selfish competition because he does not feel whole.

26168322_405926953174006_1596580671615328349_n
But there is also the man who understands and knows that happiness really lies within himself, so he seeks nothing out there; but, out there in the world of form, he works hard, intelligently and faithfully, to acquire what he wants, he studies and analyses what he wants, but he never makes competition a priority because he is already whole.

He is full and does not need competition.  And so, whosoever is full and knows himself from within does not fall into the temptation of desperately seeking to be full further.  Thus this man is not greedy or envies others and tries to compete to be better.  He only works diligently each day to be unique, not better than the rest but unique as himself.

What defines you as a human being each day indeed is the man or woman you decide to be in your thoughts and in your behaviors.

The wider view…

“Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best.” ~ Theodore Isaac Rubin; American psychiatrist, and author.

“Life is not easy for any of us.  But what of that?  We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves.  We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.” ~ Marie Curie; Polish-French physicist and chemist.

Happiness, true happiness, is realized and experienced in the individual by having patience and perseverance, by having diligence and commitment to a cause; that all means struggle through challenges, a deeper understanding, and reluctance to quit.  Self-discipline is paramount through it all since self-discipline means passion to this superior commitment; this is the path to what lasts and to what gives profound meaning to our lives.

26165416_405491426550892_7840219330550708841_n
Of course, the rest is just fleeting pleasure, it will not necessarily be struggle nor make us get out of our comfort zones.  The lower mind, the animal condition in man will always tell us of the easy pleasures in life, where the ego feels comfortable and gives mere satisfaction to the same ego-centered mind; however, most of the time this does not last and the mind is like in a sugar rush… it is extremely excited and high… but soon afterwards the mind goes back to its normal state and then there is the immediate sugar crash…

But through intelligent planning, analysis, hard and consistent work, and a noble and pure passionate heart, happiness can be experienced, true and constant happiness that is and not mere excitement and pleasure with a disguise to fool us into happiness condition.

For example, most of the time people get into relationships while confusing a mere attraction to the pleasures of the same relationship with true happiness, and that is because they are fooled by their egos and the feeling it superficially creates in them; however, the feeling of happiness is pure and is not based upon attachment to a face, to an intellect, or to a personality–these things might help, but they do not connect two souls because these things are tied to change (one day they are there, the next day they may not be.

No, happiness is not pleasure.  Happiness is the deeper connection to a person or to an event just for the sake of giving love, for the sake of connecting; it has no reason more than the process of expanding love.   The ego expects love and happiness.  The pure heart just feels a soul connection and gives love because that is what it does… it just gives love… in the process of giving is the happiness experienced.

So, pay attention in your own life and learn to see the difference between true happiness and fleeting pleasure, between what lasts and what doesn’t.  This will guide you towards true success and happiness which is real and thus brings real value to your life, to your superior development.

Rolling out of the mud…

“You have to lift your head up out of the mud and just do it.”  ~ Teri Garr; American actress of stage, television and film, singer, comedian, dancer, and voice artist.

“My father taught me not to overthink things, that nothing will ever be perfect, so just keep moving and do your best.” ~ Scott Eastwood; American actor and model.

The process of thinking, of analyzing things, planning, envisioning, experiencing first in the mind’s eye, is the process of self-discipline and of good strategy; however, too often the human mind tends to dwell on this, overthink, cripple itself, too much thinking and experiencing in the mind bring fear most of the time.

138e8e35686eba9d57615b34400d1d16.jpg
You must realize that the mind is limited and ego-centered, and so it can only aid you in things you know from experience; but things you haven’t experienced, new ventures and decisions, are always going to be targets to a little confusion and fear to the mind because change is most of the time unique and so it calls for bravery.

New horizons, new light can be scary sometimes if you are attached to the old.

The center of your attitude must then be one of serenity and poise, and you must be curious and brave, believe in yourself and do new things, challenge yourself.

Overthinking or focusing on every little detail of a new venture might leave you fearful and put down, discouraged and filled with worries; therefore, you seek inwardly for that strength and wisdom to understand and realize that to create your path, to be unique and yourself you must do, no thoughts, no overthinking, just do and be in each step you take, take it all in and enjoy the moment.

Don’t lose yourself in choices and too much thinking, the world has many choices and it always says you have time; but you must know better, warriors are forged in the choices they make out of bravery, now, not tomorrow, without delay.

26168455_405238079909560_5998968194497941414_n

Make your choice then and stop living in your mind.

The Way of The Warrior.

“To say of what is that it is not, or of what is not that it is, is false, while to say of what is that it is, and of what is not that it is not, is true.” ~ Aristotle.

“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact.  Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” ~ Marcus Aurelius.

                                                        The Way of The Warrior
25994946_404867756613259_3425195194609118974_n

One cannot simply survive and each day hope for the best without altering what one does, but one must do anew, change one’s actions, change one’s ideas, become a warrior in one’s own life. To see life with different eyes, fresh eyes, such eyes that are not exhausted by stubborn views and oppressing situations; therefore, a new breath must bring a fresh start, which means boldly gather yourself and keep making yourself better without stopping to self-pity or to entertain the opinions of others.

Opinions are never facts for the warrior who is wise and based on truth, so opinions do not shake him one bit when the fools of the world open their mouths to spew their ego-centered garbage.

When everyone else sees darkness and chaos, you must see light and order; thus, your mind becomes the mind of a warrior whose only purpose is the truth.  And the truth is that which lies within yourself, and the truth is what makes the warrior because self-love is the truth; then, whenever you see lies and deceit in the world, whenever people and situations try to pressure you into lying to yourself, into deviating from your own path, your mind will be strong and firm upon the truth which is deep within you.

This is what separates the warrior who sees and knows the light from the individual who only survives in the darkness because he does not see and know the light in himself; thus, the warrior is never lost, and the individual in darkness is lost even until physical death comes to claim him, and when that happens the fool has lost his time.

Courage.

“Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.” ~ Les Brown; American motivational speaker, author, radio DJ, former television host, and former politician.

“When you look in the mirror, what do you see?  Do you see the real you, or what you have been conditioned to believe is you?  The two are so, so different.  One is an infinite consciousness capable of being and creating whatever it chooses, the other is an illusion imprisoned by its own perceived and programmed limitations.” ~ David Icke; writer, public speaker.

Focusing on the problems brings more problems to the mind, not less.  The mind tends to limit itself, become narrow and obsessed, and it affects the whole perception of oneself and life; but what the mind needs is to be open, under guidance, it must stop focusing on problems and how big they are, and it must focus instead on the strength to get over them.  Problems are challenges to make you stronger and to help you become what you really are underneath the self-pity and all conditioned fear introduced in you by family, friends, religions, and society overall.

6797884447_260b14da98_b
Being unique is a celebration of your inner strength, where you express yourself and free your soul from all those muddy layers of the ego which limit you and tell you that you are not good enough or that you are not meant to be happy.

Courage then is to allow yourself to explore that inner strength in spite of all the people putting you down, in spite of your culture and traditions, in spite of your past memories and bad experiences, in spite of all the fears and confusions; furthermore, courage is to do over and over again through fear and confusion without losing enthusiasm for your own development, for your goal, for your life.

Why are you here if not to be truly the best you can be…??  And why would you allow your mind to be always in constant fear when you deeply know what your heart desires…??
You need to decide who you are going to listen for the big choices in your life… either your loud ego and the limitations it designs, or your heart and its Infinite Intelligence without limitations…  So decide.

Balance and harmony.

“Do not give in too much to feelings. An overly sensitive heart is an unhappy possession on this shaky earth.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe; German writer and statesman.

“It is usually the imagination that is wounded first, rather than the heart; it being much more sensitive.” ~ Henry David Thoreau; American essayist, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian.

The understanding of the activities or movements of the ego is vital to develop wisdom and lead a healthy and happy life, because the mind which is rogue and uncontrolled is
the mind which will bring much more suffering and stress to the life of the individual.  This unruly mind leads to obsession with what happened, with what affected us in the past, which leads to blindness of what is really happening in the present; thus we become reactive and wounded by whatever it is said in the present, just because our ego-minds are still fixated with past memories and still focusing upon the hurtful experience.

3861e8398d24b75f31732b33a68637b4
It is like walking around with your finger deep in your wound, as you walk it hurts no matter what you do or what anybody says or does; you cannot heal until you leave the past and get your finger out of the wound.

Being sensitive is one thing, but being over-sensitive is another.  Like everything in life, you must find a balance, and so you must not obsess over your own wounds; because if you stay in what happened, if you allow your ego to obsess, you cannot get the strength to heal and move on, you will be hurting yourself even more and distancing others as well.  In this obsession your mind gets warped into illusion, any words and messages from the world will appear hurtful to you due to your finger still in the wound of the past, and you will miss the joy of living in the moment where you find happiness and the reality of life.

25552301_403259646774070_7939147921444515351_n

Remind yourself daily to find a balance, and to remove your finger from past wounds in order to strengthen yourself, heal, deeply connect to people around you, and so lead your life forward.

Mutual respect.

“We have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter.  Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don’t even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets!  It’s time to put an end to this.  It’s time for us to let ourselves be loved.” ~ C. JoyBell C.; American philosopher and inspirational writer.

When it comes to true love there must be respect, because true love is indeed a constant celebration of respect and deep connection; and so, respect means freedom to be who you are without being bullied or judged, it means you respect the other person and are yourself respected for how you think and feel.  That is self-love.

25593973_402988736801161_5229898850263529817_n

How you think and feel must be respected, even if the other person does not agree with you.  You either respect each other or there is no love, and if there is no love to celebrate, then, what is the point of staying in a relationship with no love…??  All relationships should be for your development.

One must develop patience and understanding in any relationship, but not allow oneself to be put down or treated badly; for it is all about self-love all the time, it is about your own individual development.

To have self-love, you cannot live in fear of being alone, of ending the relationship and starting a new life where you can be yourself; self-love is freedom to be yourself, it is knowing that you are already whole and that people have nothing to do with how you love yourself.

quote-mutual-respect-is-the-foundation-of-genuine-harmony-dalai-lama-81-65-02
So, in order to recognize true love in another there must be mutual respect, which is freedom to be yourself and not his/her slave.  And self-love is not fearing change, such is change to fix your life and get rid of relationships that do not serve you.

Lead.

“The reality is that the only way change comes is when you lead by example.” ~ Anne Wojcicki; American entrepreneur, and chief executive officer businesswoman.

“A person always doing his or her best becomes a natural leader, just by example.” ~ Joe DiMaggio; American Major League Baseball player.

How many people out there say very wise and beautiful things, have vast opinions about everything, and are always judging and criticizing but never actually do the right thing, never follow their words, their opinions, never lead by example…??

These individuals are guided to think and say by their egos and not by their hearts, because when you are guided by your heart you are guided by truth; and when you are guided by truth you always lead by example because you can understand reality in the world as it is–not as your lazy ego says it is, but as it really is.

25507789_402171646882870_3183875547349726726_n
The fact is that by sheer thinking and nice wording the only thing stimulated is the intellect, the mind and seat of the ego; but, however, in order to change people and the world, in order to change yourself as well, you must lead by example, you must change your own behaviors, you must do and not just talk about it, and, most importantly, you must challenge yourself and your comfortable ego to real change you can see and do every single day.

Life itself is action, change, progress, and it carries lessons and strength in its change, in its actions, events, moments.

Now, wise people are the same, because deep within themselves they know they are one with life and not separate from it; therefore, wise people understand that human character, integrity, goodness, strength, and all which brings true happiness and success into their lives is a great change in their own behaviors.

Elephants

That is what other people around you will see and from what they will learn: your wiser example.

It is yours!

“We must not allow other people’s limited perceptions to define us.”  ~ Virginia Satir; American author and family therapist.

“Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.”  ~ Phillip Sweet; American musician.

The human potential is often wasted and even ignored, because the human potential, the strength and the capacity to be happy and express ourselves through our talents, is within each one of us, it is the divine light beyond the ego which gives life to all rationale and is there to guide us forth.

But it is ignored because most people choose to allow their attentions to fall on other people’s opinions and judgments, so they themselves become self-conscious and embarrassed, fearful and even consider themselves worthless; and they also become crippled by all this turmoil which brings confusion and fear into their minds.

25398998_401553030278065_7989688364778259642_n

Life is a beautiful journey to create yourself–that is, YOURSELF, not others. And how can you create yourself and enjoy your journey if your mind is upon what other people think…?? How can great imagination to create happiness and success in your life exist in your mind while you remain in fear and chained to what others believe of you…??

You must break yourself free from caring what others think of you, free from the chains of mediocrity; for it is your own perception of yourself the one which matters, because it is your life and you are unique, but unless you become free to imagine and create you cannot know how unique you are.

You won’t be able to see the whole forest if you can only see the tree.  And you won’t be able to see your opportunities and talents to progress in life if you can only see the people who judge you and consume your mental energy.

images

But, having said that, it is not the people’s fault but your own; therefore, you must take full control of your mind, seek peace, inquire within yourself, and follow your heart and care only about what you see for yourself.
