I don’t care if you are Black, White, Brown, Yellow, Red, Green, and all the colors of the rainbow. As long as you respect me, think for yourself, and strive to be a good person, then I will gladly treat you like my brother or sister. Too many of us live in the past, maybe because we’ve been wronged by a group, by an ethnicity; or perhaps because we follow the politics and religion that divide peoples. Whatever it is, I do not subscribe to it, and neither should you. No truly intelligent person should.

To be mature and think for yourself is to understand that people are always changing and that they are not all the same. It’s not okay to point fingers and label someone violent, or bigoted, or lower class, or dirty, or this or that, just because they belong to certain group. I judge people by their actions. That is what a human being is, their actions; not their thoughts, feelings or intentions. Only behaviors in the present matter. I am not saying that people’s past do not matter. If one’s been wronged in the past, then trust is broken. I understand that trust must be there for someone to accept another.
But why keep feeding hatred and anxiety in your mind about the past?? Let it go, which means not to fall into attachment of the past, not to allow yourself to be bullied by it, and not to become a slave to that past. In order to actually think and see people for what they truly are then, your mind must be clear from any attachment to the past, free from hurt, and able to love your own life without the burden of past memories. I am Latino in United States. I’ve been bullied and segregated due to my color and accent. But I do not let that define me. I move on. Focus on my growth. And so, I share this message with you in hopes I can help you in any way; because life might be struggle at times, but we are all trying to make it in this world.
