- Belief in ourselves is what give us the capacity augmented in us to battle the frustration and stress in our lives. Lack of self-esteem is what robs us of this capacity to believe in ourselves. Lack of self-esteem begins when you pity yourself because of a troubled past you carry, and because of envy when you compare yourself with others.
- To gain self-esteem is to love yourself. To love yourself is to dedicate your time and effort, not on pitying yourself and comparing yourself with others; but on actually working on yourself and your talents, better your health, your writing skills or any other passion you may have. Detach yourself from any negative thought or memory, look to the future without allowing society to influence you. Do this daily. Practice self-love. This will raise your belief in yourself.
